Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
Used 1/4 cup of chilled dough, rolled into ball. Baked 20". (Added 1.5 T vanilla, 1/2 T almond, 2 tsp baking powder and 1/2 t salt.) Got so many compliments, I could have sold them! Very professional, and I'm not known for my cooking! Would be a perfect cookie for gifting.

Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
Perfect at Easter with my 5# ham. I bought a Boars Head ham and it was a beautiful ham. I made Green Bean Bundles from this site-looked like a gourmet meal!

Italian Cream Cake II

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
This cake was fun to make, so easy! Buttercream icing was delicious on it-I don't care for cream cheese icing. I took it to work and people remarked it tasted like a gourmet cake from a bakery. Thank so much for a great recipe.

Italian Cookies II

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
This cake-like cookie is just amazing! I've made them numerous times since Christmas with different sprinkles for each holiday. People rave and always want the recipe. I use a Tbsp. cookie scoop and I use a more buttery icing-with 1/2 cup butter, 3.5 c. powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla and half and half as needed. Such a nice gift for new moms and dads.

Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
Delicious! Per a friend's advice, I doubled the banana. Put half the nut mixture in middle and other half on top. Has more of a coffee-cake appeal than bread, but excellent flavor and moistness! Thanks for a great recipe!

Shredded Beef Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2008
These were unbelievably good and worth the work! Used slow cooker, baked in two pans-one with just cheese, the other with red echilada sauce and cheese. Won't be dry if you use juice from meat. Only baked 20 min. Thank you so much. Will use these for company and have copies ready!

Banana Layer Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
You must try this cake if you want a light, delicious banana cake! I didn't want the traditional, dense kind and this is excellent. I adjusted the recipe for 12 servings and baked in 2-8inch pans, also used two whole bananas. Frosted with buttercream icing. I will make this cake many times because it tastes so light compared to other banana cakes. Thanks for the recipe I've been searching for!!

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
Sometimes it's best not to mess with a recipe. I followed some suggestions and added 1/2 cup oats and 1/4 cup cocoa-they were dry as a bone and didn't look like the picture! will have to try again!

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
I made this on the grill just as written except I only had french style green beans! And it was delicious! When my husband says a recipe with smoked sausage is a "keeper," that makes me happy because I love smoked sausage! Thanks so much.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
Rated this a 5 because the dough was so nice to work with, funny how some reviewers found it great and some too sticky. I always sift my flour, maybe this helps? My co-workers loved the flavor. My new vow is to try a recipe as written, then see if it needs improving. So now I plan to make this with less sugar next time (because even though I have the world's biggest sweet tooth) I thought these were very sweet. They were also slightly dry so I will bake them a little less or add less flour. Beautiful dough!

Holly Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
These are great, but super simple way to make them is to spray a round jello mold or form into a large wreath, decorate with red candies (large M&M's) and cut before serving!

Chinese Chicken Salad III

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2010
I always try to compile the best suggestions when I try something-added red pepper, toasted sliced almonds and decreased the peanut butter just a little. Took it to the work potluck at the hospital-nurses are your best critics! (So little time....so we love quality!) It seemed about 50% loved it. Not as many compliments as usual. Dressing was spicier than I expected. The more I ate-the more I liked it. The best wontons are cut into 4 strips and fried a couple at a time in peanut oil. Time consuming, but worth it.

Sugar Cookies with Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
Mine were dry. Good flavor unfrosted, nice to roll out. Would not make again. Looking for the perfect, light, flaky, soft melt in your mouth rolled out cookie. I don't know what the secret ingredient is-this needs something more to be a perfect cookie.

Minnesota Golf Course Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
If you have to cook with a recipe (like I usually do), this chili is perfect and delicious! Good old fashioned chili, easy to make with ingredients you have on hand-doesn't need anything fancy. The flavor was perfect. Didn't have green pepper, added one whole red and one whole yellow pepper for the vitamins and I'll do this from now on! Thanks for a go-to recipe!

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2011
If you love a soft sugar cookie, you'll love these. I liked it better though without salt, also unsalted butter. I found that using 4 oz cream cheese gave more flavor, and 2 1/2 cups flour made for perfect rolling out. Also rolled them out 1/4 inch thick. Thanks Karin!

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
I made this Sunday morning for my daughter's friends and they loved it! The cream cheese layer looked pretty heavy, but it baked up perfectly. For a little added sweetness, next time I think I will double the sauce and serve half of it on the side to be added as desired.

Pan-Fried Asparagus

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2011
Excellent flavor, easy too! Tastes like restaurant asparagus, but I used 2 T butter as suggested and could have used less. Also, a little salty-will cut salt to 1/2 tsp next time. Will make again for sure-thanks!
