Cream of Mushroom Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
Delicious! Chose to use milk for the sake of time and effort living in a foreign country makes various ingredients more difficult to find, such as half and half. A great addition to my scalloped potatoes and creamy chicken pasta.

Edamame Dip (Edamole)

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2010
Mine was not very green, which I attribute to the hot pepper sauce I used. However, this impressed me greatly! We truly enjoyed having this dip with some chips during a relaxing stay at the family cabin.

Chocolate Orange Marble Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
I've really enjoyed playing with this recipe. It's been delicious every time. I did the chocolate orange recipe using hot cocoa mix and it turned our wonderfully! Most recently, I didn't split the batter, instead I added cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves to the batter and made a sort of spice cake that is delicious!

Comfort Soup a la Montreal

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
I added some heavy cream at the end of preparing this soup and found the dish absolutely superb - even after having froze the main body of the soup - still delicious!

Amazing! The spice combination makes the entire dish sing. It really does compliment the Moroccan Couscous well.

If you like sauerkraut, then go for it! Otherwise, probably won't be a new favorite. I really enjoyed this soup, nobody else I was feeding went for it though...

Beer Cheese Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2010
This was a great starting point for beer cheese soup. I had made up some twice baked potatoes with butternut squash and had extra filling, so I threw it in the blender with some cottage cheese and milk and used it in place of the half-and-half - worked out great and was a great use of potato filling. Thanks for the delicious recipe.

Catfish Cakes

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
I know it's been said, but these are AMAZING! I don't even like fish, but loved these! I used bread crumbs rather than crackers. I also forgot to add the egg, so the first three I fried disintergrated in the oil. Rather than remix my fish patties, I just dipped each in an egg/milk mixture then flour - superb!

Moist N Tender Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
These were good and convenient being in the slow-cooker, but you do miss out on the crispyness of other chicken wing recipes. I just put mine in the oven at 350 for about 15-20 minutes before serving to crisp them up and we enjoyed them immensely

Multi-Grain Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
I played quite a bit with this recipe - but loved having it as a base. I used 1 cup Vanilla Yogurt, 1/2 cup Strawberry Banana, 1/4 cup whey (from our cheese making) and 1/4 cup Orange juice in place of milk. No oil. Spelt flour instead of wheat and added some cinnamon and frozen strawberries for excitement. They were a wonderful start to the day and I'm confident that even if made as written they would be delicious.

Tarragon Beef Stew with Vermouth

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
I had the pleasure of preparing this with Elk meat which is higly recommended, but nonetheless, the results were superb! As per reccommendation, I ommitted the mass amounts of water and as I do with all soup recipes I substituted a portion of the broth for an herbal tea as to reduce salt and add some other nutrients - turned out delish!

White Bean, Spinach, and Barley Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
This was delicious! As stated, it is even better the next day so makes for the perfect prepare and take to lunch soup. The most common substitution I make with all soups is to use an herbal tea in place of the broth, a great way to add some nutrients and cut back on sodium.

I was able to use garden fresh green beans from my father, as well as some various peppers he had grown in his garden, it was a big hit with the in-law family, so it's a keeper!
