Cabbage and Noodles

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
This was very good. I followed the recipie and found it lacking a little extra something. I agree with other reviewers and think some vinigar, caraway seeds or kielbasi would really bring it up a notch. Hubby really liked it, though, the kids not so much. I will keep it in my profile and add to it next time.

Peach Cobbler III

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
I don't know what I did wrong. I used fresh peaches and cut the water back to 1 cup, but it still turned out kinda flavorless and needed a kick. It also was mushy and wet at the bottom of the pan. I would not make again.

Famous Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
I rarely give 5 stars, but this is my favorite pork chop recipe. The only change I make is I use Italian bread crumbs and I melt the butter in the pan first by heating the whole casserole pan up first in the oven. I don't need that much butter, but you do have to use REAL butter. Awesome!

Taco Soup VIII

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2011
This was very good, the family really liked it. It was , however, very thick as written. I added an extra small can of tomato sauce and and a cup of water, which diluted the seasoning. To correct this I added another half pack of taco seasoning, a teaspoon of cumin and some garlic powder. I wanted a more tomato flavor, so I added a can diced tomatos with green chilis. This really seemed to make it stand out more. Very good all round with modifications, which I'm not a big fan of "rewriting" a recipie then reviewing, but I don't think this strayed too far from the original.

Ham and Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2011
I would give this 4 and 1/2 stars if I could, it was that good. I made several changes other reviewers made, which really made it stand out. First, I sauteed half an onion (a whole onion would be too much) along with a some frozen peas before adding it in. I used cream of mushroom soup as it was all I had and then used cheddar cheese. Last I added a half a can of milk because it looked dry. I then skipped the crumbs and covered with foil, uncovering half way. It was so good, really a perfect casserole. With all the changes I think it really stands out.

Portobello Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2011
I was somewhat disappointed in this overall. I followed the recipe exactly as written and it never picked up any real flavor from any of the ingredients, just kinda blah. Nobody in the family really cared for it. It may need some additional seasoning to perk it up. It was very easy however.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2011
I made this with fresh blueberries with a few peaches thrown in to make a full 2 cups and it was very good. I couldn''t believe how easy it was. The texture is a little chewy around the edges, which I liked. I think a little more fruit and some cinnamon would really have made it 5 stars. This is a true cobbler, which should be easy to make and was.

Blueberry Crisp II

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2011
This was wonderfull! You do not taste the mayo at all. I read other reviews and agree you need to have more topping, so I did 1 and 1/2 the topping, which was perfect. My berries weren't wild, so they were a little sour, I just sprinkled a TBS of suger over the berries and let it all bake a little longer than the recipie called for. Turned out perfect, ate with vanilla ice cream and the whole thing was awesome.

Brownies III

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
These were very blah and not worth the calories! I wish I had read other reviewers first but went ahead because I had all the ingredients on hand. It was an oily mess that baked up looking like they would be great but tasted bland and not enough chocolate flavor at all. My daughter(who eats any sweet made) suggested we throw them out! Move on to a better recipe in the future.

Cranberry Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
These were awesome. I made no changes and they came out great, served them with vanilla ice cream while a little warm. They were also so easy. If you like tangy with your sweet, these are it!

Asian Turkey Burgers

These were surprisingly good! My picky teenagers and husband liked them also. We goofed and used a whole egg, but they were still great.

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
This was fantastic! I was not prepared for it to be so good. I made some changes because I needed more servings, First I used 1 and a half lbs of meat, 2 cans of soup and one envelope of the Liptons. I then added a tsp of bullion granules and a few good shots of Worcestershire Sauce (my secret weapon for Pot Roast too!) Finally, I added only a half cup of water because I knew I would be baking this dish covered with foil and I did not want it to dry out. I, like another reviewer, was concerned that I was using "beef for stir fry and saute", but it turned out perfect. Last, I cooked the dish for an hour and a half and then finally, turned off the oven with the dish still in there for one hour. My grandfather was a incredible cook and passed that tip down to me. These were small changes but led to great results.

'Day Before Payday' Kielbasa and Corn Hash

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2010
This was great. My husaband and picky kids all loved it, which is rare. The only change I made was to use frozen corn, which I think has a much fresher flavor. Even when I heated it up at work they were lining up for the recipe without even tasting it! This is definate keeper. My only warning would be to make sure you use a big enough skillet, as this does make alot.

Raspberry Oatmeal Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
My family and I didn't really care for these bars to much. They didn't have enough Rasberry flavor and tasted too much like dry cake mix. I think a different mix might have helped,I used a vanilla flavored and the aftertaste was too strong.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
This recipie has turned out to be one of my family's favorite. It is easy and you can cut down on the fat using lowere fat products, it is so good, there is never any left, and we are only four people! I will often double it and freeze on epan for later. Thank you for a great recipie!

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
This was very good and I make it often. I did make only small additions such as sauteed onion, some frozen peas in the noodles while they were at the last few minutes of cooking and skipped the crackers and butter as my kids think they are gross on other recipies. At the very end I sprinkled some shredded cheese and baked untill it melted. Overall a good staple to have on hand.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
This chili is very deceptive, because it looks so easy, and it is. I only leave out the green pepper and add crushed and petite diced tomatos instead of juice to make it richer and boy what a differnece. It is awsome and a stand by for me at least once a month. Also, not too spicy.

Coconut Sour Cream Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
This cake was one of the best I ever made! I would cut down on the almond extract to maybe half a tsp, but that is it. It gets better the longer it sits in the fridge! I brought it to work and everybody raved. Also, I cut down on the suger like was suggested and it was pefect. I only used 1 and 1/4 cup.

Simple Hamburger Stroganoff

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
This was okay, I think the cream cheese gave it a kind of pastey texture and it needed some garlic salt to boost the flavor. I added some diced onion with it when browning the beef. I also agree with other reviewer that only one can of soup was needed. I think I would skip the cream cheese or cut it way down next time.
