Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2013
I've made this a few times now and it always turns out great. My husband loves it, and every time I make it he says its the best chicken pot pie he's ever had (even better than the previous time I made it). Each time I make it, I tweak it a bit (i.e. I have added potatoes or not used onions... All depending on what I have in my pantry). One thing I ALWAYS do now is mix the chicken and liquid filling together before putting it in the pie crust (because the first time, I followed step 4 of the recipe exactly, and it didn't mix well at all... the consistency was too dry on bottom and too soupy on top). I also always make extra filling somehow, so I freeze it for an easy, fresh dinner later!. I use the refrigerated pie crusts from the store, but in the future I want to make my own pie crusts... simply because I don't love the flavor of the store-bought crusts.

Belle's Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2013
I had never made buns or rolls before so I was a little nervous. I chose this recipe because of its high ratings (and it seemed easy enough). Turns out, it is an easy recipe for beginners, like myself. I read reviews beforehand and took some advice and suggestions of others. However, they are still pretty dense and a bit too sweet for hamburger buns in my opinon. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but at least I'm a little more comfortable with baking bread now. I actually enjoyed them better as dinner rolls with butter... But even like that they are still a bit heavy and dense.

Frozen Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2013
Easy recipe. Flavor is okay, but not like refrigerated cookie dough from the store (which is what I was hoping for... I just wanted to make it myself). I read many of the reviews before I made it and I added salt and baking soda. It's still a bit bland and drier and more crumbly than I prefer. My husband said the vanilla was too strong. IF I decide to try this recipe again, I might use less flour and less vanilla. Maybe it's better (and more moist) dipped in chocolate, as others have done, but I just wanted plain cookie dough.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
Great cookies! Very easy to make! However, one thing I didn't care too much for was the STRONG almond flavor. It made them almost too sweet for me. I'd like to figure out how to change that. Also, I did follow the advice of others and refrigerated them for about 15 minutes before baking and they held up very nicely. I also used the advice of another review and used the end of a tube of chapstick to make the indentions for the filling. They turned out picture perfect!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
Everyone loves these cookies everytime I make them. They always comment on how soft they are and how they taste like they just came out of the oven, even when they know they couldn't have. The pudding makes all the difference in the world!

Easy Peach Crisp I

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
Very good recipe! I took the advice of some reviews and added 1/2 cup brown sugar. I sprinkled that and the cinnamon on the peaches first. I then used a pastry cutter to mix the cake mix and butter together to make the topping. It turned out perfectly. I had to bake mine for about 10 minutes longer or else it would have been runny. Everyone couldn't get over how great it was... and it was so easy to make!!
