I grew up in an Asian American household in St Louis, MO. My mom made everything from Asian stir fries to French roasts and Italian pastas. I grew up loving all different types of cuisines. I just love food, and I love to cook!
My favorite things to cook
I'm really into baked casseroles lately, stuff like chicken divan. They're easy to prep, the house smells good when its baking, and there's always leftovers for lunch! I've also been doing a lot squashes: kabocha, spaghetti, acorn- healthy vegetarian, but very flavorful.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mom's stuffing made from chestnuts, pork, spices and brandy... yum.... I miss it during the holidays!
My cooking triumphs
My office has a semi-annual cook off. I've won two of them: the chili and curry cook offs. Both recipes are from here. This website rocks!
My cooking tragedies
In high school, I tried to bake a cake from scratch by myself. I accidently used salt in the place of sugar. In my defense, the salt and sugar containers were not marked. It was such a rookie mistake!!! The cake tasted like a REALLY salty bread... ick haha
