Black Bean Vegetable Soup

Excellent soup! Added a little chopped green pepper and used frozen corn instead of canned. Didn't have vegetable stock so used chicken. Very tasty and easy. Thanks for sharing!!

I made exactly as written and it was fantastic! Soft on the inside and crunchy on top - perfection! It states 6 servings but my girlfriend and I ate the whole thing!! Will definitely make this again but will double it. I think I also might try it with green onions, sausage, etc. instead of the sugar and syrup. Can't wait...

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

I've been making cheesecakes for 40 years and I didn't care for this one at all - sorry. I like cheesecakes that are dense, creamy and smooth but this one was light, fluffy and almost grainy. Also, it didn't have much flavor. I think all the milk and flour ruined the taste. Guess I'll go back to my old standby recipe or I might try another recipe on this site.

Orange Muffins

When I first took these out of the oven I thought that I baked them too long....they looked dry. But when I tasted one it was delicious! Flavorful and moist (but not like those greasy, store-bought muffins). I made an orange glaze - yummy!! Will be making these again.

Chocolate Chip Dream Bars

These were good but the next time I make them I will make two changes: I will add pecans or walnuts and I will use a smaller pan since they were very thin. I'm taking them to work tomorrow so I'm anxious to hear what my coworkers have to say about them.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Mine turned out "best, big, fat and chewy" just like the name. I used margarine because butter tends to make the dough run all over. I used fewer chocolate chips and I added walnuts. I did not refrigerate the dough at all and they turned out great! I haven't tasted any since cooling them so don't know yet if they turned hard. We'll see tomorrow morning. I will make again.

Key Lime Cream Pie

The flavor was good but the texture was not. It was curdled and lumpy; not creamy and smooth as I remember key lime pie being. I will try another recipe on this site. Thanks.

Chewy Cocoa Brownies

I made 1/2 recipe in an 8x8 pan and they were excellent! It should be mentioned that when using a glass pan the temperature should be reduced by 25 degrees (I forgot, and the edges were a little dark). Otherwise these were very moist and tasty. Thanks for the recipe.

Cream Cheese Frosting I

I must have made a mistake...but don't see how. It's the easiest recipe I've ever attempted but it came out like water! I only used one Tbsp. cream but had to keep adding more and more and more powdered sugar...until I ran out. It's still soupy, but I frosted the cake anyway. Poured it on is more like it. Did anyone else have this problem? I put it in the refrigerator for over an hour. Anyway, it tastes great!

Stuffed Brie

Everyone at my party loved this! Very easy. Watch cooking time though; my first attempt ended up as a puddle on the plate! (after less than a minute in the microwave) Served it anyway and people gobbled it up!

Banana-Oatmeal Bread

Excellent bread; very moist without adding lots of fat. I substituted fat-free half and half since I had some on hand. Most likely, it didn't make a difference. Will definitely make this again and again! Oh, I also added walnuts.
