Slow Cooker Mongolian Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2013
DELICIOUS! I used chuck steak (2 lb). Instead of hoisin sauce I used peanut sauce (Thai) and the whole bunch of green onions, not just 3 stalks. I had no fresh ginger so I used powdered. I did not bother to brown the meat first. I just through everything in the slow cooker and cooked it on low all day. Served it over a bed of Jasmine rice. Awesome!

Pork Tenderloin Diablo

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2013
Followed recipe except I used dried chives instead of fresh. It was delicious and easy. Great for a weekday meal and for weekend indulgence. The pork was tender and juicy and the sauce flavorful with a small kick. Next time I made it I added dried tarragon (1/2 tsp). This made it even better. Thank you Chef John!

Cajun Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
I love this soup. To cut down on the heat I used 1/2 andouille and 1/2 beef brats. Instead of italian seasoning I used the dried spices in the Parmesan Potato Soup recipe on this site. 2 cups of milk is way too much. I used about 3/4 c and still thickened soup with 2 tbls of corn starch and water. I didn't have Parmesan so I used Romano and added it directly to the soup - about 1 cup.

Parmesan Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
Delicious!!. I used only 2 14.5oz cans of chicken broth (not the 4.5 cups called for) and 1 to 2 cups of milk. I wanted it thick. I also added about a tablespoon of granulated garlic to the spice mix. Thanks for a great recipe. The family loved it.

Gooey Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2010
In a lame attempt to lower the fat I used neufchatel cheese instead of cream cheese. I baked them 5 minutes longer than the max (18min total). Otherwise I followed the recipe to a "T". May I say, these are now my favorite cookies...to die for. Thanks for a great recipe!!

Zesty Grilled Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
Best pork chop I have had. I had the family over for Sunday dinner, amazing that EVERYONE love them. I'm sure you know how difficult it is to please everyone. Followed the recipe with no changes. Prepared the chops in the morning and marinated them all day. Then grilled them. Was a little low on charcoal so I added some small pieces of oak from my wood pile. Great recipe! Thank you!

Sausage Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
This was delicious. Everyone loved it. I brought it over to my daughter's house on Xmas morning. If I had known it was going to be so good I could have gotten away with buying no gifts...ho ho ho. I left out the flour mixture all together. I used a pound of sausage and eleven eggs. Instead of Monterey Jack I used the 4 cheese Mexican blend. Otherwise I followed the recipe.

Teriyaki Onion Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
I never have had a better burger. I marinated beef for 2 hours in teriyaki sauce, worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke before grilling them on my charcoal grill. Definitely a repeat menu item!!

Better Burger Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2008
This was excellent. I added a bit of chipotle chile powder to add some zest. Not only good on hamburgers and hot dogs, I like it as a chip dip. Thanks for the recipe
