Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
I liked this recipe very much, as did my 5 year old son. I've made these twice. The first time I found them to be a little bland, so the second time I added some vanilla extract and cinnamon and they turned out perfectly! Next time I am going to replace the melted butter with apple sauce to try a lower fat version and I can't wait! This is a banana muffin recipe which I will definitely be using again.

Vanilla Crepes

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2008
Absolutely delicious! This is a great recipe if you have kids, also. I put diced strawberries and whipped cream out on the table and let my 5 year old son make his own. He thought it was so much fun (and also thought the crepes were very good).

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
This is a wonderful, quick and easy recipe for pizza dough. I made a few alterations... I substituted olive for vegetable oil, added some herbs and fresh garlic to the mix and also let it rise for about 45 mins (lightly oiled dough and placed in bowl covered with a dish cloth). Also, before baking I brushed the crust with roasted garlic olive oil. Delicious! I'll definitely be making this recipe again.

Easy Key Lime Pie I

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
The best and easiest key lime recipe I've ever made! I made my own graham cracker crust and used 1/2 c lemon and 1/2 c lime juice. It turned out great. No complaints here.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
I liked this recipe very much... especially because it makes it's own gravy! My roast was on the smaller side so I only used one can of soup. I added 1/2 bag of baby carrots and a diced onion to the mix. Also, I substituted beef boullion for onion soup mix and added some garlic and additional spices. The roast came out perfectly tender and the gravy was perfect.

VERY tasty, quick and easy recipe! I flour coated the beef then sauteed in olive oil until nicely browned. I also added a cup of peas.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
Excellent cheesecake that pleased everyone I served it to! I followed some of the suggestions made by other reviewers... for the crust I used 2 rows of whole oreos, 1/4 c. butter and omitted the sugar... double wrapped pan in tin foil and cooked in water bath to prevent cracking. I made the raspberry sauce and though I haven't tried it with preserves I think that it really added alot to the overall taste. The tartness of the sauce really compliments the sweetness of the cake. Delicious! TIP: I saw that many people had difficulty straining the seeds from the raspberry sauce, so I used a the foot from a pair of new panty hose to strain the seeds!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
Very tasty and freezes well. The cinnamon and sugar dusting makes these really flavourful and the sour cream add a good amount of moisture. Have made these into full loaves, mini loaves, muffins, and mini muffins. All were good. Make sure you use FULL FAT sour cream or you won't be getting the best part of what this recipe offers. I give this 4 stars because while it is a great recipe, it isn't the best I've had. This does freeze the best of any other I have tried, though.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
Very bland. I highly recommend adding more seasoning to this recipe. My 3.5 lb chicken also came out a little dry. If I make his recipe again I'll add more spices and adjust cooking time.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
Excellent flavor, but WAY too much fat!!! I recommend significantly cutting down on the fatty ingredients because the topping is VERY greasy. I'll try this recipe again for the wonderful flavor, but I'll hack out most of the fat.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
Perfect with a little extra cinnamon and a scoop of french vanilla ice cream! As suggested by other reviewers I halved the water and the consistency was perfect. I also added 2 extra tsp of cinnamon... one to the apples and one to the crumble. This will certainly be my new crumble recipe!

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
Simple, fresh, and delicious. Easy to whip up with a weekday meal. Fresh parmesan and basil are key. Scale back butter to about 1/2 tbs (feels sort of greasy with the oils from the cheese).

Pizza Swirls

This is a very tasty recipe. I actually overstuffed mine so I baked mine un-cut and cut them once they were baked. My 6 year old enjoyed both making them and eating them!

Garlic Parmesan Orzo

Perfectly delicious very easy. The flavor is fantastic! The only thing I'll change the next time is cutting the butter 1/4 cup instead of 1/2 cup.

I marinaded some thick pork chops overnight and grilled them on the BBQ. They were VERY delicious. This is going into my regular rotation, for sure.

Cajun Chicken and Sausage Gumbo

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
Very good recipe. I added more herbs and spices as I found the creole seasoning alone wasn't enough for me, but that's a personal thing. I ate this over rice with cornbread muffins on the side.

Cornbread Muffins I

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
These were pretty tasty and plenty moist. I don't like my corn bread 'too' sweet so I halved the sugar and added 2 tbs honey and the sweetness was perfect. I sprinkled grated sharp cheddar on the tops. I will be making these again.

Sweet Potato Bread I

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
I absolutely loved this bread! I was searching for an alternative to the banana bread I make very often and I'm sure I've found another bread I like just as much. My boyfriend said that he has co-workers who'd pay me to make it for them and even my 6 year old loved it! First off, I've tried this recipe 3 ways: 0nce as written which was very tasty. One time using applesauce in place of the oil which was slightly 'odd' tasting and I didn't like the texture. Lastly I used 1/2 sweet potato and 1/2 mashed fresh pumpkin and it was INCREDIBLE! Next up I'm going to try a lower fat version with sour cream instead.
