About this Cook
I knew my boyfriend was destined for me the moment he signed up for Culinary School. A few years later, now engaged, I hit the jackpot with a CHEF HUSBAND(soon-to-be)!! Although, I have to say, I definitely enjoy cooking more than he does. I am a true foodie...the way to my heart is through MY stomach. Luckily my fiance figured that one out pretty quickly.
My favorite things to cook
Anything & Everything! I love Indian food, vegetarian, flat breads, especially love all types of dips, baked sweets....
My favorite family cooking traditions
Trying to replicate my mom's chicken curry.
My cooking triumphs
Chicken curry salada
My cooking tragedies
Burning garlic...lol:)

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread
Wow! Really great recipe! Very easy to make and it turned out fantastic. Crusty on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Made this using loaf tins and the bread attachment on our kitchenaid. Made 2 loafs and 1 small batch of cinnamon buns. Next time I make this, I will omit sugar or reduce drastically since me and the hubby prefer non-sweet breads. Thanks so much for sharing this :)

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies
Definitely deserves the 5000+ reviews. Tried other sugar cookie recipes before, this one is the tastiest & easiest! I followed other reviewer's tips (extra sugar, chilled dough, roll between parchment paper, use icing sugar to roll instead of flour, 8 mins in oven, transfer immediately to cooling rack- you can't go wrong!) My only change was fresh vanilla beans (no vanilla extract) which gave it a nice subtle speckle and flavor. YUM!
