Weeknight Wonton Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2011
Thank you for the tip to add the tops of the green onions as well. I never know if I'm supposed to or not for any given recipe that calls for them.

Very quick and easy. I'd like to know the easiest technique to fill the shells if anyone has an opinion. Thanks!

Three Bean Salad II

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2011
This is a very simple & delicious recipe for 3 bean salad. I do cut the sugar in half & the flavor is still great! I couldn't find wax beans so I substituted garbanzo beans.

Lemon Yogurt Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2011
I've made these twice now, once with oil instead of butter. They were much more moist & the flavor was just the same. They are soooo good! My family loves them for breakfast. Also, I halved the topping ingredients on the second batch I made, you don't need too much to spoon over the muffins.

Chili Rellenos Casserole

Reviewed: May 22, 2011
Very simple & delicious. Used Enchilada sauce instead of the tomato sauce as recommended, and 3 eggs instaed of 2 & it turned out great.

Lemon Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: May 3, 2011
This recipe was great!! I've been looking for a good lemon chicken recipe; most times the sauce I make doesn't have much flavor, but the flavor of this one was great. A good balance, not too sweet or sour, and the curry gives it an excellent flavor. I like that you bake the chicken instead of fry it, a healthier choice. I served it over rice & with some broccoli.

Egg Drop Soup (Better than Restaurant Quality!)

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
My family didn't like this one too much. I added more soy sauce & sesame oil than it called for to give it more flavor & the egg was very unattractive. (I wasn't sure how to get the ribbon effect, so it was big globs of egg.) Probably won't make this one again.

Corned Beef and Cabbage

Perfect recipe for this. Feeds plenty of people & all the veggies make it so much better. This will be my recipe for corned beef & cabbage every year for St. Pattys'.

Spicy Tortilla Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
These tasted a lot better than I thought they would. The only thing I didn't have on hand was the sliced pimento peppers. -And I couldn't find spinach tortillas the day I made them, but will find them next time to make them a little prettier. The hot pepper sauce livens it up just enough so they're more interesting than just the cream cheese flavor. My group of friends loved them, but if it were more than 4 people or so, I would double the recipe.

Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
I love this soup. Sometimes it turns out a little too thick so I do check on it towards the end to check the consistancy. I use some milk, besides water or chicken broth. Its good without so many of the extra veggies listed, too.

An easy & healthy soup. We're always trying to incorporate more veggies in our diet & this soup helps us accomplish that. A low-fat dinner that everyone eats up.

Garlic Shrimp Linguine

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
Soooo good, and easy! Definitely a keeper. My family gets tired of the same old traditional pasta recipes. This was a refreshing change, and an excellent solution if your craving some seafood but don't want to spend a small fortune at a restaurant. Tastes like restaurant quality dish, and comes together so easily.

Cabbage Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
This is a pretty heavy dish. So much meat & very thick. It was a bit much for us. Maybe for a large amount of people it would be ok. I love cabbage, but there was so much meat, just the sausage would've been fine.

Finnish Meatballs (Lihapyorykoita)

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
I love meatballs, but this seemed very thick & greasy. If you could thin out the sauce a little it would be much more appealing.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
I read everyone's reviews to add different ingredients to change this recipe up. It turned out pretty good but very very salty. I think I should've gotten low sodium chicken broth instead. (I substituted chicken broth for water.) I used one can of bisquits, two would've been too much. I seasoned the chicken with a little paprika, poultry seasoning & cumin. The overwhelming saltiness must have been from the chicken broth.

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2010
I like the flavor of this dish a lot, but the cabbage rolls did tend to come apart. I tried not to move them when they were in the pan & kept the heat on medium low so I wouldn't have to move them much. I do recommend toothpicks to help keep them together.

I do like the seasonings in this recipe. This is something I choose to make from time to time, with a big helping of vegetables on the side. I love garlic, so the taste is great to me.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2008
This is perfect for a pot luck as it makes a lot, especially for a small family we had a ton left over. Very good southwestern flavor, & with a bit of sour cream on top, warm comfort food.
