Easy Key Lime Pie I

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2008
I followed the suggestions (4 egg yolk, 2 cans sweet cond. milk, 3/4 c lime juice and 1/4 lemon) and the pie was wonderful. I chilled it for a few hours and then added the whipping cream to the top with some lime zest. Beautiful and delicious. Not a crumb was left at our neighborhood bbq.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
These brownies disappointed me. I followed the recipe exactly, making only slight changes because I live in a high altitude environment. The brownies were very thin and after spreading the icing on them, all I could taste was the icing. I am going to give them one more try, but as of right now I am not impressed. Sorry.

Chicken and Corn Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
Yummy! I followed the recipe very closely and this "chili" turned out beautifully! I didn't cook it over night as the recipe suggests, but opted to defrost the chicken and cook it on high for 4 hours and then low for the remainder of the day. I started it at 10am and it was done by 5pm. I used Newman's Own Thick and Chunky Natural Salsa. I drained the cans of beans and corn so that it wasn't too soupy and I am really glad I did that. We served the shredded chicken on tortillas with cheddar cheese and sour cream. It was sooo good! It had a lot of flavor, but was not spicy. If you want it to be super spicy, just choose your salsa wisely and add a little more spices when you cook it. This recipe could easily be adjusted to suit anyone's taste buds. My family (including my two year old) loved it as is! THANK YOU so much for sharing! UPDATE: I have made this 3 times already! I love it! Thank you so much for this recipe; I can't get enough of it!

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
I do not like chili and have never made it before this. With that said, I really enjoyed this chili. It is a good "base" chili to get someone like me without a chili recipe started. I will definitely use this recipe again and make the changes necessary to meet my families taste buds. I decided to cook this all day in a crock pot and it turned out wonderfully. Thanks for sharing!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2008
Good, not great. The tops stayed really flat and did not pop up like muffins are suppose to. Perhaps tweaking the recipe a bit would improve. I followed the recipe exactly and will now try some of the comments that people suggest. This recipe is worth a go once or twice.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
I give this 3 stars because it was so incredibly easy to make. It wasn't a "Wow" meal though. The chicken was dry and I cooked it on low and checked it often during the last couple of hours of cooking to make sure I did not over cook it. The 'sauce' was a little oily and had a weird flavor to it. I used Dave's BBQ sauce and name brand Italian dressing (I use these all the time and love the flavors of both) but the taste just didn't seem to really be that great. This is only something I will cook again if I have nothing else in my house to throw together. It will not be added to my dinner rotation.

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
I made this for my family tonight and none of us could finish our portions. My two year old hated it, and my husband said it was too sweet for his liking. This recipe did NOT meet my Southern girl expectations.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
Definitely NOT a cinnabon, but a good cinnamon roll. I followed the recipe exactly and here are the problems I ran into: The brown sugar did not fully cook and was still grainy when eating the cinnamon roll, there was not a lot of "goo", and it was super duper sugary sweet. Here are the changes I will most likely make next time: I will cook it at a slower temperature, longer to try and cook all the brown sugar; I will blend a little white sugar and brown sugar instead of just plain brown sugar; and I will add a little more butter to the top of the cinnamon rolls.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
So moist and easy to make. It is hard to mess this recipe up. I usually add 4 medium bananas, but I have made this bread with 3 or 5... It is so moist and delicious. I highly recommend it.

Key Lime Pie I

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
I made this for Easter and it was a great hit. The only things I would change would be to have the whipping cream sweater. I also added green dye to make it more festive and I added lime zest to the pie filling. Yum, Yum, Yummy! A big hit!

Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
Yummy! This is a great casserole. I was a little worried about the cottage cheese, as my family members are not fans of cc, but we all loved this! I didn't have any left over as everyone went back for seconds or thirds. Great for a brunch.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
This was way too rich for my taste. If you are a fan of the original green bean casserole (cream of mushroom soup and green beans) then you will probably not enjoy this casserole. I made it for 10 people and only 2 ate more than a couple of bites.

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
I was disappointed with this recipe. The reviews were so high that I thought I had found the perfect chewy peanut butter cookie. I was disappointed. The recipe calls for you to make gigantic cookies; I would highly recommend you downsize them! Not my favorite cookie recipe, but not horrible either.
