About this Cook
My husband and I have been together 15 years. I can't lie. I don't truly find myself enjoying cooking, but every one seems to love my cooking. I always figured I cook because I have to. Everyone needs to eat. Since my husband is in the military, I cook a lot for his military brothers. They come over a lot and I take food to their job. They make food request believe it or not. I tell them they need to get married or go home to mom. :D So I find myself spending a lot of time in the kitchen. Needless to say, I think I am beginning to enjoy it. HA HA....I am starting to have fun!
My favorite things to cook
I love to make my macaroni and cheese, it always comes out so good! (I use 5 cheeses!!)Ask my husband he loves my fried chicken!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother coming over for a visit and doing ALL of the cooking while kicking everyone out because we don't "do it right". :D
My cooking tragedies
Just recently I followed a recipe that I found here for a turkey. They turkey fell and only 2 people got a slice. The dog got to it, so we had to toss it. 6 hours of cooking that turkey, gone. Well, there was a lot of other food. I made homemade macaroni and cheese, corn bread, mash potatoes, stuffing, green beans, and a lot of sweets!! So even though the bird was gone everyone still got to eat!

Personal Portobello Pizza
D E L I C I O U S! I made these tonight and they came out phenomenal! I read other reviews and was concerned about the water. What I did was remove the stem and gills, baked on 425 for 20 minutes, and then layered on the sauce, cheese, a slice of salami and some pepperoni, then cooked it for an additional 15 minutes. It came out delicious, water was not an issue. It really took me back to one of my favorite pizza spots in San Diego. They've sense closed down because the owner passed away. I've never had pizza that fantastic again. This recipe HIT THE SPOT! Great. Would totally recommend. :)

Chef John's Roasted Brussels Sprouts
Yum! I've always loved Brussels sprouts; they're one of my fav's! This was delicious. However, I couldn't get the non-eaters to even try it. Boo! They totally missed out. They were great.
