I just made it today. I agree with the whole, it is a huge recipe and it does take a long time to simmer. I added red pepper flakes to mine in the last 40 minutes of simmering because it didnt taste like it had enough flavor, but now i regret it because after letting it simmer even more it came out wonderful and the underlying taste would have been great without the red pepper. it was very filling and i can see how it would lead to weight lose. i will update later with the results! *******EDIT****** So, it is now 2 weeks later. I ate this soup for the first 5 days, and then ate it as every other meal for anotehr 3 days (4 meals a day) and then ate it once a day for the rest of the time until i ran out... I am down 10 pounds in a little over 2 weeks! I did start doing an extra 30 minutes of walking durning that time also, but there is no way all the weight lost could account for that!
