This was really good. I liked it the way it was and will definitely make again. Hubby liked it too but when I asked what would make him like it more he requested no ritz topping or poppy seeds and that I use cream of chicken with broccoli soup. Oh...and we had it over mashed potatoes - so yummy!

My Navy Bean Soup

Perfect! My husband and I both gave this a 10. I used precooked ham chunks instead of bacon and added 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Oh...and I only used 1/4 cup or so of margarine as others suggested. I fast cooked the beans then followed the recipe. After I brought the soup to a boil I transferred to the crock pot for 3 1/2 hours (started on high and turned to low once the beans were the texture I wanted). Thanks for this recipe! Loved this and I am not even a fan of bean soup!

Roasted New Red Potatoes

Loved the texture of these potatoes but the taste was bland. I was looking for a basic recipe but it was a little too plain for me. Would make them again using some garlic or onion tossed in with them.

Sloppy Joes II

These were good. No comment from the hubby so I'm thinking he wasn't a fan. I tried the joes before I added the brown sugar and I think they were better. I would make again but would omit the brown sugar...

Famous Pork Chops

My husband - who is not a big complimenter - said he's never had better pork chops! These are a 10. I used 4 chops (halved two butterfly chops) and used 1/2 of the butter called for. I baked them uncovered at 375 for 50 minutes. Yum!!!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Salsa Chicken

I loved it and my husband gave it an 8 out of 10. The only change I made was to put salsa on the bottom of the pan. Probably would have been better if I followed the recipe and just greased the bottom. Hubby said there was a little too much salsa. I will definitely make it again and follow the recipe exactly! Yum!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

My new sugar cookie recipe. I have been loyal to my other one for years but I'm switching to this one. I followed the recipe exactly except for separating the dough into 4 separate sections before chilling. The first time I rolled them too thin and they were too sticky. The next time I rolled them thicker and they were perfect. Totally delicious!!!

Strawberry Dream Cake II

Cake was good but not great. To be fair, I did make some changes. I used coconut cake mix, substituted applesauce for 1/2 of the oil and omitted the nuts. The texture was great but I expected a fresher strawberry taste. I didn't have time to make the icing so that probably would have made a difference. Overall, pretty good.

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Wonderful. Followed the recipe but took others' advice to 1) rinse the beans 2) add cumin and chili powder - I would say at least 1 tbsp each and 3) substitute 1 can of cream of chicken soup (I used Healthy Request) for half of the broth. Added a little cheese and sour cream on top and served with tortilla chips. Yum.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Excellent. This was the hit of the Thanksgiving dinner. It replaced the pumpkin pie and was requested for next year! I made the following changes: I used a homemade graham cracker crust, used canned pumpkin, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp cloves, 1/2 tsp nutmeg and I baked it for 50 minutes. I also left it in the oven to cool after it was done baking.

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

This beat my favorite banana chocolate chip recipe (which my family loved) by a mile. It is so moist and wonderful. I used Ghirardelli chocolate bars instead of chips. A new staple in my household.

Easy Streusel Coffee Cake

Wonderful and EASY recipe...I changed it to be a blueberry cake with a brown sugar and cinnamon streusel. I added one cup frozen blueberries (would have been good with 1/2 cup more) to the cake mixture. Here is the streusel recipe I used... 1/2 cup flour, 2/3 cup brown sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 2 1/2 tablespoons margarine.
