Whole Grain Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
These were very good waffles! Added a dash of cinnamon. I had strawberry flavored applesauce, so that's what I used no oil. Added some water & used all whole wheat flour. Didn't have flax or wheat germ. Yum! And healthy!

Cincinnati Skyline Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2011
After reading other reviews I made a lot of changes & it turned out wonderful. With the tweaks I made to the basic recipe it is very authentic tasting. I only used 1 lb ground beef & boiled it with the onions. I used a mixer for meat but I think next time I'll use the food processor. I used only 1 tablespoon of chili powder & added much more cinnamon. I also added about 3 Tbsp of cocoa powder & little nutmeg. I used 2 -15 oz cans of tomato sauce. A lot of work, but worth it! I topped it with onion & cheddar & served it with "Sweet Corn Cake" from this website.

Sweet Mustard Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
I absolutely loved this chicken! Hubby not so much. He thought it was too sweet. I did use yellow mustard instead of dijon because that's what I had on hand. Added a bit of cayenne. Didn't use butter, just a little olive oil. Only made 2 chicken breasts in an 8x8 pan, but made all the sauce. So there was plenty of it. Will try this again. Hoping to tweak it a little more so we both like it. :)

Barbecued Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2011
This was very good. Halved the recipe. Only used about 2 teaspoons of milk. Also used Sweet Baby Rays. I think 35 min was too long after sauce is put on because they seemed a little. Too done.

Easy Homemade Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
Some changes made: added chopped green pepper & garlic, left out water, added 2 cans stewed tomatos, two cans chili beans, used 1 1/2 Tablespoons Chili Powder. Was a lot of liquid, so I did have to simmer for about an hour. Really good chili, like a cross between Steak N Shakes's chili and Wendy's Chili. Sprinkled quite a bit of Monterey Jack shredded cheese on top of bowls. Served this with "Sweet Cornbread Cake" also from this website!

Sweet Cornbread Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
THE BEST cornbread i've ever tasted hands down!! I like my cornbread to be sweet and very moist and this is definitely moist! Oh, man! I should not have just eaten 4 peices!!! Ate it with chili. I followed the recipe to a T except I got it outta the oven after about 33 min or so. But my oven runs very hot. If you like corbread flat and gritty and slightly on the dry side you probably won't like it. Like someone else said, you could definitely ice it with vanilla icing and eat it like a cake! YUMMMM!

Baked Ziti with Sausage

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2010
This was absolutely delicious, everyone went back for seconds. So very filling! I served this with a nice crisp iceberg salad. I did do a couple things different with the suggestions from others I added a little more spaghetti sauce and cooked the onion with the sausage, I also used turkey sausage and hubby didn't even know :) I definitely used more mozzarella and only one teaspoon of garlic, this was awesome! Oh, cooking time: 350 for 45 min, covered 30 min, last 15 min take cover off, I actually had to broil for a few min to get my cheese to fully melt.

French Ham Cheese and Egg Fondue Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
This was very, very good. My husband I both loved it. I made almost exactly as the recipe called for. The only difference was that I made it for dinner, so it didn't sit overnight & the bread wasn't day old. It was still absolutely delecious!

Shrimp Spread II

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2008
Pretty darn good, I actually meant to follow the recipe exactly, but for some reason I forgot the minced onion, I didn't miss it too much though. Very cheesy! I also added an extra can of shrimp and I'm sure glad I did, still only a hint of shrimp flavor. Delicious Spread!

Baked Potato Salad I

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly. Except for the olives, they just seemed out of place. This turned out VERY good. However, I think it can be improved, next time I will add some more potatoes and maybe not cook it as long. It was still very good though.

Sweet-Sour Sausage Bites

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
This was really very good. I doubled the recipe because I made it for dinner and served it over white rice. The only thing I did different was I used canned roasted red peppers instead of a green pepper, because that's what I had. I really liked it! Thanks for the recipe.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
I hate to give such a bad rating, but the proportions in this recipe don't seem right at all. There was not nearly enough sauce for 1 pound of meat, it should be doubled or maybe even tripled. Also to simmer it for 30 minutes would have been way too long. I followed the recipe, then when I saw that it wasn't enough sauce I had already run out of ketchup so I had to add water, then I only simmered it for about 10 minutes. It still tasted pretty good, don't get me wrong, and I will probably make it again, I will just make more sauce next time.
