About this Cook
I love to cook and bake. I am in culinary school for bakery/pastry and I love it! I am a full time student and Mommy. I really enjoy cooking and baking for my friends and family. My favorite part of cooking is sharing the food with others.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking all sorts of breads, cakes and cookies. I also love to cook southern style meals. I make a killer spaghetti and meat sauce that all of my family and friends love.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My fav family tradition is the big Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner at my Grandma's house. She makes the best food, no recipes needed. I started making the mashed potatoes for our family when I was 10. I always wanted to help, and now I help my grandma prepare all of the "fixin's" for her. I look forward to carrying out my Grandma's traditon.
My cooking triumphs
The biggest triumph in cooking for me is just the fact that my friends and family love what I cook. I love to share with them and it makes me very happy that they are so supportive in my passion.
My cooking tragedies
I attempted to make rolled fondant from scratch, using glucose. I thought I was doing really well at first. I made the dough and it was the right texture, but when I tried rolling it out it all cracked and fell apart into tiny pieces. I was not giving up on it. I had a cake to make for a close friend that was all planned out. But I just ended up in the kitchen in tears for 3 hours. There was powdered sugar everywhere and it was a disaster. I'm sticking to the store bought fondant from now on.

Eileen's Meatloaf
This was absolutely delicious!! I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of using 2 lbs of beef instead of 1 1/2. I noticed some other reviewers recommended using less soup mix and less sour cream, but I used all of it and it was great! This recipe is definitely a keeper. Thanks for the great recipe Lindsay :)

Spicy Black Bean Empanadas
Delicious!!! They were smaller than I expected so they took a little extra work, but they were worth it. These make a great appetizer for any party. I made some lager ones and we had them for dinner. The recipe is very versatile so you can easily substitute the meats or make them vegetarian. So yummy!!

Buffalo Chicken Dip
My friend made this for my Christmas party last year. It was the best!! We could not get enough of it. It is delicious and everyone loves it!
