About this Cook
I'm a 20 year old college student at Rutgers University, living in my first apartment. I avoid the dining hall like the plague so I'm always in search of new dinner recipes for myself and my 3 roommates.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake- desserts of all kinds are my favorites. After that I'm a huge pasta fan and since I'm a college student - the perfect recipe for me is simple, quick, healthy and inexpensive!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a family of "quick" specialty chefs with a flair for baking! We're an on the run family with a sweet tooth.
My cooking tragedies
Fried eggs (yolks runny!) and cookies on regular pans are my worst enemies - I always end up setting off the smoke detectors! So I stick to scrambled eggs and baking stones!

Pesto Turkey Burgers
Absolutely amazing. I don't have seasoned salt so I leave it out, sometimes I throw in some fresh parmesan or onions to taste, but it's delicious without. I usually serve on whole wheat buns or fresh rolls with onions and baby spinach. These are ALWAYS a hit with everyone, even the die hard beef eaters. Moist, flavorful and delicious! I don't have a grill so I use my George Forman - yum.

Pumpkin Syrup
I took another reviewer's advice and omitted the cranberry juice and just added some more maple syrup and it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Great recipe!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake
This was my first time making a cheesecake, and it came out absolutely perfect and delicious! I did follow some of the reviewer's suggestions: reduced temp to 325, reduced flour to 2 tbsp., used a water bath and changed the crust for a little more flavor. I had no problems at all with cracking or under-cooking - it was absolutely beautiful and even better tasting. 5 starts without a doubt!
