Sweet Summer Fruit Bruschetta

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2008
This recipe is fabulous! It goes together easily, although don't put the fruit mixture on the bread slices until just before serving so that the bread does not get soggy. I used peaches, nectarines, plums, and strawberries in my fruit mixture and the addition of the brown sugar and lime juice is perfect! Will definitely make again and again.

Zucchini Souffle

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
This was surprisingly good! I had my doubts while preparing it, but we were very happy with the results. Next time, I may add some shredded cheese, but it is very good as is.

Peach Beehives with Hard Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
After reading the other reviews, I think I had higher expectations for this, but my guests and I found this to be only so-so. The hard sauce is very good, but everyone said they would just rather have a peach pie. It is a novel way to present this, but the flavor is not amazing.

Classic Spanish Sangria

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
I get rave reviews everytime I make this. It is a good base recipe, I like to make it my own by adding apples along with the other fruits. I also use spiced rum and orange-pineapple juice. I have also added a dash of Fresca to each glass to make it zippy.

Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2008
Wow! This is what I call Mac and Cheese. Pure comfort food. The creamy cheese sauce with the crunchy buttery crumb topping is so good. I used sharp cheddar, velveeta, and whole wheat rotini noodles. Also, I used panko bread crumbs (that's just what I had in the pantry) for the topping. I like this recipe versus another I have tried from this site because it uses a roux as the base for the cheese sauce, rather than just baking cheese over noodles. I highly recommend this recipe!

Grilled Asian Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2008
This is a great recipe. Very basic, but lots of flavor! My whole family loved it. I marinated the chicken for about 6 hours. I think the marinade could be used on other meats as well...beef, fish,....

Holland Boterkoek

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2008
Very Good. Even my husband who does not generally like Almond flavor really liked this. The texture (for me atleast) was more cookie like, but absolutely delicious! I may try different flavors next time, like vanilla instead of almond.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
Good recipe, my daughter even said she liked them better than some we had at a bakery recently. I followed suggestions to 1) have butter and eggs at room temp, 2) mix wet and dry ingred. seperately before combining, and 3)mix by hand, making sure not to over mix. I was very satisfied with the results.

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
Oh my. So good! Received rave reviews from my family. This was very easy to make with just a few ingedients. Did not change a thing, and you MUST use all of the sausage called for.

Popovers

Very good, very basic recipe. Must eat right out of the oven. Not good when cold or cooled. I will try another reviewers suggestion to sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. YUM!

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
Good recipe. I used powdered sugar for the "white sugar" called for in the recipe. I was planning to pipe this frosting, so I wanted to make sure it was a stiff consistency. As other reviewers have said, the key to a good consistency is to keep the frosting cool while working with it.

Scotcharoos

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
Very good and easy to make. I put it together in under 10 minutes. BEST REVIEWER TIP: Do not let the peanut butter sugar mixture boil, as it will make the bars hard as rocks.

Vanilla Glaze

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
Oh YUM! Such a simple and easy to put together galze. I agree with other reviews that you need 2 Tbsp of milk, rather than tsp. I used a little bit more butter than called for and also added pumpkin pie spice to the glaze which was delicious on the spice bundt cake I made.

Chicken Piccata II

Delish! Served with Fettucini Alfredo. Only change I made was to cook the chicken breasts in lemon olive oil rather butter because I had some in my pantry.

These are a delicious memory from my childhood. I love these bars. I agree with other reviewers that you must follow the recipe and layer the chips, nuts, and coconut in order.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

These really are "To Die For". My whole family loved them. Each muffin is very filling! I followed other reviewer's suggestions to grease the entire pan-top and all, and that helped get the muffins out.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
This is a good recipe base, but I felt I needed to add more to make it what my family would like. I added more vegetables (chopped carrots, celery). I also agree with the other reviewer that the amount of biscuits called for is too much.

Ice Cream Sticky Buns

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
Oh my goodness! These are delicious! Just because we like it, I added 2 tbsp of cinnamon to the sugar/cream mixture. I agree with the other reviewer that you could easily cut back on the sugars as it turns out very sweet. Next time I make this, I may experiment with other flavors of ice cream besides vanilla-maybe Butter Brickle, Cinnamon, or Caramel ice cream. Possibilities are endless. YUM!

Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
My family and I were not crazy about this recipe at all. It's the flavors, the sauce is just too sweet, you can almost taste the grape jelly. I won't be making this again for my family.
