Never, Never Fail Pie Pastry

Moist and flaky....needed to be baked 20 minutes longer than recipe called for...the fluted crust edge lost its shape, otherwise ..really good.

Salmon Pie I

My husband gave this recipe a 4/5..."tasty""filling" were his responses. I used the never, never fail recipe from this site..."moist, flaky". I will add more vegies next time round....peppers, zucchini, maybe some nuts. Be sure to eat with tartar sauce.

This was EXCELLENT the day after! I mixed the rice(I had made yellow rice), and the Thai Curry tofu together, in the fridge over night...The next night I added seasoned salt and 2 tsps. Cumin and about one half cup of chopped fresh Cilantro......Yummy!

Cornish Game Hens with Garlic and Rosemary

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
I assumed that the hens needed to be baked, covered, with the roasting lid on. The recipe did not specify covered or uncovered. After 30 minutes the hens remained pretty pale looking and there was way too much gravy...i then realized that the recipe likely inferred to be baked uncovered...off came the lid, after another 30 minutes of baking they started to colour up....they were fanatastic and enjoyed by all....whew!!! Yet another Christmas meal to remember!

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
I used to make a similar recipe , since the early 90's. I moved after 17 years and couldn't find my old recipe, and used this one. I was very disappointed in the outcome. It was very grainy and i could hardly spread the topping. After it had cooled, the dessert was "crumbly" and the chocolate topping split when cutting, despite using a hot knife. Addendum....I just found my old recipe ...I will stick to that one.... thanks anyway

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
I found this sauce to be too runny, i needed to add flour and water mixture to thicken it up a bit. That being said, it had great taste, I also added an extra garlic clove. I will make again, though cut back on the cream. thanks.

Sand Art Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2001
Just tried this recipe over the fastive seaon(theres a batch in the oven as I type this). It makes an really good brownie and is a novel gift idea. If you prefer a cake type brownie add half the oil called for, if you like a moist brownie add the full amount. They take 30 minutes to bake in my oven, I baked one batch for 45 minutes and they were great too.I have found that the brown sugar dries out, nothing that a good wooden spoonwon't fix!! Thanx for the recipe.
