About this Cook
I live in a ski town and own a kitchen store. Mom to a 2 yr old daughter. I teach a kids cooking class for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders on Monday afternoon.
My favorite things to cook
casseroles! They are the ultimate dish to me! I also really enjoy making soups and appetizers.
My favorite family cooking traditions
lots of southern foods, breakfast, appetizer parties
My cooking triumphs
chili, ham & corn chowder, spaghetti casserole, any appetizer
My cooking tragedies
my daughters 2nd birthday cake- it looked gorgeous but tasted awful. Anything baking... living at this altitude, it is almost impossible- and I just do not have the touch!

Guacamole
great guac! I did everything exactly as followed and it turned out perfectly. The cayenne is a great touch!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips
Amazing! I did use 3 kiwis, which were needed, and would possibly add blueberries, blackberries, or sliced grapes next time. I used apricot fruit perserves which were really great. Kids ate this like crazy!

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup
I really enjoyed making this soup! I did subsitute canned diced tomatos and crushed tomatos instead of the fresh- and do not at all think that it made a difference in taste or flavor. I should have added a little minced garlic like previous reviewers suggested. And I agree, real butter and heavy cream is a MUST! I served these with gourmet grilled cheese cubes, and the whole meal was a hit!
