Add 2 Tbsp soy sauce to the butter mixture and nuts and/or arare to the cereal mixture. Soooo yummy!

Squash Braid

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
This is the best yeast bread I've ever eaten. I used a cup of mashed leftover roasted butternut squash cubes that I had previously seasoned with thyme, salt, pepper and olive oil. Roasted squash is sweeter than boiled; I think that added to the flavor. The bread wasn't too sweet, however. I put all the ingredients into my bread machine and used the dough cycle. I needed to add 1/2 c more flour, but the dough still finished very soft/sticky. I formed it into a long loaf with as little handling as possible (didn't want to add more flour and wind up with dry bread) and baked it on a well-greased cookie sheet (I didn't use the egg wash). It came out so soft with a perfect crumb. This is a great recipe; thank you so much for sharing!

Lazy Daisy Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2010
Perfect for strawberry shortcake (I got 12 servings for that use). I didn't use the frosting and had to bake it for about 10 - 15 minutes longer. Definitely a keeper.

Potato Pizza Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
I made this for a bunch of kids and there were no leftovers! I didn't add extra salt and used turkey pepperoni--I don't think it would taste like pizza without pepperoni. The sauce ingredients sounded strange, but it went well with potatoes. I baked covered for an hour before removing foil and adding cheese.

Paula's Bread Sticks

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
I'll definitely use this recipe again. I used olive oil in place of butter, and 2 cups all purpose flour plus 2 cups stone ground whole wheat flour in place of 4 cups bread flour. My bread sticks were soft--just the way I wanted them. Perfect with soup.

Oatmeal Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
I used my Kitchenaid mixer to knead this and had to add a LOT more flour (and still never cleared the sides of the bowl), even though I reduced the second water measurement to 1 c. Though the flavor and texture of the insides were good, the tops and edges that were against the pan were tough.

Strawberry Spinach Salad II

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
This dressing is perfect for spinach-strawberry salad. I didn't have poppy seeds, so left them out. The sesame oil is what "makes" it, IMO. Sugar could probably be cut back a bit. I added cubed Korean pear, toasted walnuts, and feta cheese to the salad. It was the favorite dish at a recent dinner party.
