About this Cook
Will be 48 this year and have been married for 26 years. We have one son, who is 20 years old. He is into healthy food right now (low carb, high protein), and my husband is not. Quite a challenge to find things they will both eat.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. My husband is the griller. He does a great job on chicken and ribs. I love to search for new recipes and to cook for family gatherings.
My favorite family cooking traditions
my son has a favorite dessert that I love to make him, Chocolate Mint Bars. Other favorites are my chicken enchiladas, meatloaf, chili con queso, salsa, zucchini bread and bread rolls.
My cooking triumphs
bread rolls
My cooking tragedies
pork crown roast for Christmas last year. I KNEW the times that they told me seemed too long, but I trusted them and even checked it 1 hour before they said it would be done and it was WAY over done. Very expensive mistake.

Eggless Pasta
This was very good. I made as stated for a veggie lo mein recipe, but next time I will add some flavorings to the dough. As another review stated, I also had to add quite a bit more water than it said to. Probably because of where I live, it is very dry. Oh, I ran this through my new KitchenAid pasta roller and angel hair pasta cutter and it worked perfectly!

Apple Crunch a la Mode
The Crunch Topping was really good although it could have used more cinnamon. I thought about adding more, but didn't and wish I had. It said to slice the apples thin, so I did and they turned out like applesauce. I baked it for the exact amount of time that recipe indicated. I probably will make this again, but will add quite a bit more cinnamon to the crunch and also to the syrup.
