Waffles I

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2014
We love these waffles! I did half white flour and half whote wheat flour. I doubled the sugar and vanilla as a couple commenters suggested. I also threw in a dash of cinnamon for a little extra flavor. These waffles are light and fluffy! They turned out even better the next day, after the batter took a rest in the fridge for the night.

Cream Cheese Mints

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2013
I just made these. They taste great (except for one minor detail I'll mention in a bit)! I used peppermint extract, though I'm not sure how much. I LOVE peppermint, so I threw it in till it suited my tastes. I also added extra sugar because it was too sticky. One thing I wish I hadn't done was use 4 ounces of cream cheese that other reviewers suggested. My mints have a bit of a tangy cream cheese flavor that I could do without. Otherwise, the taste is great! Next time, I would make them according to the recipe and hope they wouldn't be as tangy. They are a bit of a pain to roll into balls and take a bit of time (and don't look too perdy), but I'd say they are worth it!

My Grandmother's French Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
This stuff is SO good! I needed it for a taco salad. It came together so quickly...almost so quickly that I felt like I was doing something wrong! I didn't use blue cheese. I also had to use onion powder and garlic powder. It still turned out great! I probably ate way too much of it. =) Delicious! And a plus, the finished dressing stores perfectly in a 32 ounce ketchup bottle (after being shaken together in a bigger glass jar), so it's easy to squirt out! Will definitely make this again when the need arises!

Passion Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
I made these exactly as written, and they were....OK. Reviews said they were sweet and rich, but mine were neither. I did use all natural peanut butter, and maybe others don't (meaning their pb would have added sugar, making the bars very sweet). But rich? They aren't rich at all! They barely have taste at all. I'm so sorry I used the ingredients on these.

Buttery Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2011
These are AMAZING! PERFECT! DIVINE! They are just like rolls you would get in a restaurant or buy in the store, only BETTER! I had never made rolls before and I was a little scared. I'm so glad I got the courage and I'm so glad I used this recipe. I did everything as the recipe said, except when the dough cycle was done on my bread machine, I left the dough sitting in the machine for about an hour and a half (I wasn't ready to bake the rolls yet and didn't know what to do with the dough in the meantime). I don't know if this assisted in making the rolls so fluffy and delicious or not, but even technically "messing up" the instructions, they were AWESOME! I also brushed melted butter on top of them when they came out of the oven. The only place I went wrong was only making a half batch! I'll be making a full batch next time. I'll definitely be making these again and again!

Oaty Cereal Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
I love these! I didn't add salted peanuts (just don't have any, but they'd be great!), so I just threw in some salt. I'm made two batches and didn't salt the first batch enough. The second time I gave my salt shaker a good shake into the sugar/honey mixture. Perfect! Also, the first time I made these I did as one review suggested and boiled the sugar/honey for about 3 minutes. The end result was more of a brittle. I still enjoyed it, but my 19-month-old son couldn't eat it. The second batch I only boiled for a minute or so and they came out perfect! They set up, but still chewy. Mmm mm!

Easy Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
Love these muffins! I made them with apple sauce instead of oil and I did a quarter cup white sugar and a quarter cup brown sugar. They turned out great! I would have added some fruit or nuts if I had any, but even without they're perfect! Just what I was looking for. Such a simple and easy recipe and very tasty! Not overly sweet like a a lot of muffins, but a great healthy snack! Everyone loved them, including my 14-month-old. My mom even said they were muffins you could sell! Thanks for this recipe!
