Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2014
I made it almost as written, we didn't have pecans so I added another cup of carrots. It is excellent, even better the next day. The flavor of the frosting is great, the texture a little grainy, that's my mistake, didn't beat it long enough I think. It would be helpful to know how long to whip it.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2014
Made these using only butter and added chopped salted peanuts. They are amazing! When they started getting softer, the second day because of the heat, I put them in the fridge and they tasted just as great cold

Cheesecake Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2013
Made exactly as written, brownies from a box, it's ok. Not bad, not great, I'm not sure it's an improvement. They look fancy but taste average. You mostly taste the sweetness, not cheesecake or chocolate. Brownies from scratch next time!

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
Simple, good and easy. I followed the recipe as is and, although it didn't rise like a pizzeria crust would, the taste was fine, more of a crispy crust. I made the dough in my mixer and just left it in there to rest while I got eveything else together - 45 minutes - and it doubled in size. I was able to make 2 10" pizza crusts.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
Very tasty - had it warm with vanilla ice cream on top and the kids ate it right out of the pan the next day

Quick and Easy Brownies

Easy, chocolatey and good - maybe a little too sweet for me.

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
Wonderful!! I followed the recipe as written and had great results with little effort. My hubby said it was as good as the local Japanese steakhouse's and my 2 and 4 year olds devoured it. They wanted nothing to do with their plain rice. The sesame oil adds a lot in my opinion so don't omit it.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2009
I've made this twice now with fresh blueberries. The second time I doubled the recipe and baked it in two pans as a coffee cake. To die for!

Vaselopita - Greek New Years Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
Very good! I usually wash the coin then seal it in foil and just stir it in the batter before I bake it. Next time I'll add orange juice and zest instead of the lemon.

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
Even though I accidentally reduced the recipe to 24 serving when I printed it, used 2 can of pumpkin and baked it in 3 square cake pans, it still came out great. I did add about 1 cup of chocolate chips. We don't even like pumpkin bread but I find my self in need of another batch since we gave two as gifts and the one I kept for us is just about gone. Definitely a winner!!!!

Easy Key Lime Pie I

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2008
I followed the recipe but also added a little bit of lime zest. It was easy to make and very very good. If I ever have to make pies for a crowd I'll be making this one!

Indian Chicken Curry II

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
Restaurant quality! Although I skipped the garlic, lemon and cayenne pepper and added peas and carrots. Also I used ground ginger instead of fresh. My husband, who's not fond of Indian cuisine, went for seconds.

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
We eat a lot of tuna and this is a great recipe. I'm planning to try the marinade for chicken next time.
