Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2012
Wanted to love these, but they were kinda a bland spicy flavor. They also fell apart as you ate them and were rather dry tasting. I made a tex-mex dressing to go with it and had to overload to compensate for lack of flavor and moisture. Not sure I would try this again.

Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2012
5 stars, following the advice of other reviewers. I skipped the chicken bouillon, I used 1 tsp. pepper, 1 tsp garlic salt & 1 tsp chopped garlic. I added chopped onions. I served without noodles or bis quits, as the potatoes were enough carbs. I cooked on low for 5 hours, added frozen veggies, and cooked for another hour on low. Even my picky 5 year old loved it!

Tomato Florentine Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
I think this is a great soup! It tastes great as is and you can change things up and it is still good! I usually add about 1/2 cup of sliced carrots, a 1/2 cup of sliced celery, and extra pasta! We also garnish with parmesan cheese. I call it my popeye soup, because it is so healthy!

Spiced Quinoa

Reviewed: May 13, 2011
This was great. I only used 3/4 tsp curry and 1/8 tsp black pepper. I could still taste the spice, but it wasn't overpowering for my kids. I skipped soaking the raisans and just added them in with the broth. My 4 year old even ate it!

Sweet Potato, Carrot, Apple, and Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
Great recipe! If you want a sweeter twist on this, add in an extra apple, 1 tsp cinnamon & 2 Tbsp brown sugar. I pureed it and thought the color was great, it reminded me of butternut squash soup.

The Best Meatballs You'll Ever Have

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
We did not care for these. I followed the recipe, except I baked them. I think it could be due to the large amount of worcestershire sauce, but I'm not wasting my time to try it again with less!

Curried Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
Just the untraditional meatloaf recipe I was searching for! I added in minced g. peppers, carrots, mushroom, and garlic & ground mustard. I used slightly less onion and more curry. Thanks for thinking outside the loaf!

Garlic Lover's Pizza Crust for the Bread Machine

I had to add 1/4 cup more of flour and it was still pretty sticky to handle. I will keep looking for a good crust recipe!

Devil's Food Sheet Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
I made the cake gluten/dairy free for a birthday by substituting gluten free all-purpose flour, Earth Balance butter, and adding 1 tsp xanthan gum. It turned out beautifully! I also cooked it in 2 8"round pans and put strawberry fruit filling in between the layers.

This was really yummy! Definately needs salt, and I added a couple of splashes of hot sauce to an extra kick. Will make again!

Wonton Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
I wasn't happy with how mine turned out! They looked great, but I found them very bland and dry. The only explanation for dry pork, is because I used rice vinegar (as per suggestions) instead of oil. They next batch I may use oil and vinegar, double the spices, and add salt, garlic, and paprika.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2010
This was so yummy! I found the pepper strong, so next time I will cut it down to 1/2tsp. I plan on making this again soon and dividing it up to freeze!

Extra Easy Hummus

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2010
I really did not like this. I thought the cumin was too strong. I even followed the suggestions of others and added some lemon juice and sesame seeds.

Love this recipe! Sometimes I substitute dill weed for thyme for a little twist. I also like to mix in chopped carrots.

Roasted Vegetable Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
This was super tasty, I gave it only 4 stars because it was quite time consuming and my veggies lost their shape after roasting and became smooshy. Either I would cut them thicker or roast them for less time.

Chicken with Asparagus and Roasted Red Peppers

I thought this was very yummy, but the Chicken did not have much flavor. I would make this again, but will marinate the chicken before-hand

This was a great meal! It made enough to feed 6 people. I omitted the butter and just simmered the veggies in the water/broth mix. Broccoli slaw is great mixed in as well! Definately will make again
