Pretty plain but good with soup. I had trouble making them into roundish bowls ... mine were more flat saucers.

Mini Cheesecakes I

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2014
Really easy and delicious. I mixed a little bit of butter with the crumbs because I was worried the crumbs were too dry but they stuck together just fine without the butter. Next time I'll get the real vanilla wafers that I think would be the right size to put in the muffin pan without crushing. Maybe also try some of the other varieties and flavors recommended by other reviewers.

Great recipe for Nick - no dairy, no eggs. We sprinkled some chocolate chips on top. These are dense but delicious.

Potato Leek Soup III

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2014
Really enjoyed this soup! We used half and half instead of heavy cream and did not put it in the blender. The first time we used leeks and the second time we just used onions - the leeks were definitely better.

Delicious and easy. I used ground ginger and cut the recipe in half. We used boxed wine. Next time I think I would use a little less orange zest.

Delicious! Dan added some liquid smoke to another batch which also turned out great. I think the margarine or butter really helps.

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2013
Dan's new favorite scone recipe! He likes it even better than the grandma's scone recipe. I think it is a bit less cakey and less sweet. I like both scone recipes. We added raisins to this one.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2013
Always turns out great. Lately I've been using some applesauce for half the oil and adding raisins, cranberries, chocolate chips, or walnuts. This makes 2 big loaves.
