Beer Bread I

I would definitely make this again. Used Miller Lite that was one week away from expiring. Didnt have self rising flour so I made my own by adding 1.5tsp baking powder and .5tsp salt for each cup of flour I used. Otherwise, followed the recipe exactly. There was plenty of flavor, texture was slightly crumbly but firm, and a great crusty crust! No specific negatives, but an overall of four stars.

Banana Crumb Muffins

I thought these were pretty good. The muffin tops are delicious, the bottoms are mildly bland so four stars. I creamed the butter instead of melting it to prevent the sinking tops some people complained about. I also used really overripe bananas so there was plenty of banana flavor. I will definitely make these again and I will try adding nuts next time.

Black Walnut Cake

The cake was great! Be sure to really grease and flour the pan so the cake doesn't stick. The icing didn't turn out. It still tasted great, but never thickened enough. I would definitely make the cake again.

Hot Onion Dip

Excellent, simple, so tasty! I would bake this in a thin layer because the top gets crispy in the oven and thats the best part! I also think you could substitute the onions with many different things to change this up a bit. As it is, its an excellent dip! I will make this again.

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Excellent cake and icing! I didn't have sour cream so I used bittermilk instead but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. The cake was moist and flavorful, the icing was creamy and sweet. I made a double layer cake instead of cupcakes and it worked just fine. Only four stars because the cake wasn't red at all so I'd add more coloring next time. Also I'd make less frosting. It's good but too much for my preference. I will definitely make this again!

Best Toffee Ever - Super Easy

Extremely good! Followed the recipe as it said but I stirred everything constantly. From start to finish it took 20 minutes. I had to bump up the heat to med-high to get the temp up to 285 in the last couple minutes of cooking. Not the best toffee I have ever had, hence four stars, but definitely worth making. I will make this again!

Paella I

Excellent! Couldnt find muscles, so left them out. Peas didnt do anything but add a color, the color is great, but dont fret if you dont have a handful of peas. Other than the muscles we pretty much followed the recipe, we eyeballed our measurements... Turned out very well and we would definitely make it again!

Very good! Followed the recipe exactly and served with rice. Some commented that it was too sweet, I didnt get that at all. The soy sauce evens out the sweet perfectly. I will make this again.

Cinnamon-Sugar Fan Biscuits

These tasted great! They are exactly like dinner biscuits with an added hint of sweet. I used lard instead of shortening, it made the biscuit flaky without loosing any flavor. I didnt get how to form the dough so I just rolled everything up like a cinnamon roll. In the end they look just like pin wheels.

Orzo and Potato Parmesan

Great and very simple! I used two cups curly pasta instead of one cup orzo (same amount of water) and it turned out just fine. I completely forgot the parmesan cheese too and it was still tasty! This is a good healthy and hearty meal, the only 'bad' thing in here is the butter!
