Easy Indian Style Okra

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
Very good. I started with frozen chopped okra, so it didn't take as long to cook. I threw in a can of diced tomatoes at the last minute after the okra were done frying. It turnned out really well and went great as a side to keema. Served with Pita bread.

Peach Pork Picante

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2010
This one needs a little work. I always make the recipe as written before I make adjustments. This really needs some salt, pepper, maybe a dash of cumin and a sour cream topping. If i make this again I will serve it with black beans and rice. This time I had it with just brown rice and that wasn't enough.

Feta Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2010
I gave this five stars because it was really simple and delicious. I didn't pound my chicken thin enough so it took a little longer to cook. I served it with brown rice. Next time will add a vegetable, maybe broccoli. No need to make any drastic changes. It is good and healhty as is.

Green Bean Casserole I

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2010
This was really good. I followed another reviewer's suggestion and used 1/2 cup of milk instead of what the recipe said. I also copped some regular onion to go in the casserole and used the french fried onion only as a top layer. The final adjustment was to throw in a little sharp cheddar cheese. I will be making this again. It was quick and easy.

Baked Soy Lemon Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2010
These were really good. I followed the recipe amounts exactly. When making again, I will use a smaller baking dish so that the juice will not dry up as much. will be making this one again in the near future. I served it with green bean casserole- amazing combination!!!!

Bunjal Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
This was very good. I added about 1/4 tsp. of red Indian Chili powder, and a dash of coriander. I also used a little bit more curry powder. I was cooking for 3 so I used about 1lb of chicken and I didn't have to make extra sauce. I served it over Basmati Rice.

Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2010
This was really yummy. You should mash the bananas, it makes the pudding moist and spreads the banana flavor. I used more chocolate chips then the recipe calls for and a added a hint of cinnamon powder. Also, I just placed the mixture in a glass dish and baked it for about 40 minutes, instead of following the recipe method for baking. I Had to stop myself from going back for another serving. Will make again.

Chicken Jalfrezi

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
This was a very good dish. I didn't have ginger so I just left that out. Instead of using ghee, i substituted with unsalted butter (2 tbs.). I served it over yellow rice and with pita bread. Some people have said that It wasn't spicy enough but it was fine for me. Make sure you are using red chili pepper- found at your local Indian/Pakistani grocery. Loved it, will make it again!

Coriander and Cumin Rubbed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
This was a really good recipe. I gave it 5 stars because I followed the recipe exactly an it was wonderful. Usually I have to make adjustments and additions, but this is good as is. I served the pork chops with curried potatoes (my own recipe) and whole wheat pita bread. I will definitely be making this one again in the near future.

Easy Masoor Daal

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2010
Really good. I didn't have any ginger, so I just left that out. Instead of heating up the oil/seasoning ingredients in the microwave i used a skillet. Also, instead of cayenne pepper I used Red Chili powder that I picked up at the local Indian market ( used the same amt. as the recipe suggested for pepper). I used yellow spit peas instead of the red, and I soaked them over night. Finally, I added 1/2 tsp of Garam Masala, and 1/4 tsp of coriander. It was spicy, but I love it that way. I served it over plain white rice and whole wheat pita bread. mmmmm. Will make again.

Keema (Indian-Style Ground Meat)

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
So I had to make a lot of changes to this one that's why I only gave it 3stars. I used about 1 lb of lean ground beef. I used 2.5 tablespoons of Garam Masala, .25 tsp cumin, .25 tsp coriander, a dash of curry powder, and a little chipotle chile pepper to taste. I also added about a cup of diced potatoes. I left out the tomato, but kept the other ingredients. I served it with warm whole wheat pita bread. It was really good, and even better the next day. Will make again.

Lebanese Chicken and Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
This was a good dish, I did add some onion. The lemon juice was overwhelming, will probably use less the next time I make it. I served it over white rice and salad.

BLT Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
This one is a big hit with all my friends. Instead of cooking the bacon in a skillet, I bake it in the oven at 400 degrees for about 20mins. Also because i'm really bad a cutting tomatoes and not making a mess, I buy the containers of already cut up tomatoes in the produce department. I serve the dip with wheat thins which really bring out the flavor.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

These thing's are addictive. They were all I ate for a whole weekend, and I probably gained like 5 pounds, but they were so good and all my friends kept asking for more.

Salsa Chicken Burrito Filling

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
This was pretty good. I didn't find the recipe to be too salty as others have said, but I did use more chicken then the recipe called for. Make sure you don't use a nonstick pan when cooking this because when you go to pull the chicken you can scrape the bottom of the pan. I cooked white rice and black beans on the side to stuff in the burritos along with the chicken filling and topped it with cheese and sour cream.

Country Brunch Skillet

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
This was good. Instead of opening a whole pack of bacon, I just used bacon bits. I didn't have any bell pepper on hand, but i could tell it was missing and will definetly use it next time.

Zesty Tuna Salad

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
This was really good. It very close to a recipe that i use, except that i add a little chopped bell pepper instead of celery for some extra color and flavor. This time i had neither on hand and it still turned out great. I used the tuna to make sandwiches with tomato. MMMMMMM good.
