Brownie Tarts!
About this Cook
I'm a writer and teacher. I discovered that I loved to cook when I bought a condo with my boyfriend and he promised me a food processor if I kept cooking and improving!
My favorite things to cook
I love to mess with marinades. It's amazing to me how different you can make the same old chicken taste with just a dash of flavor.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom's red Italian sauce, one hundred percent. I love making it but I've never actually written down a recipe. I guess that's an Italian thing - I don't think any woman in the history of my family has ever written it down - we just show each other how to do it.
My cooking triumphs
I made my first homemade pie this past Thanksgiving, along with a stuffed mushroom appetizer. They were both hits at a very large dinner, so I felt great about that.
My cooking tragedies
Oh, I can't even get into it. I'm no expert! (Not yet, anyway:))

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches
This was so tasty! I only made a couple of changes, as per some other reviews. After 5 hours, I shredded the chicken and put it back in the pot, along with the butter. I served it on rolls that I broiled to melt butter and crumbled blue cheese on them. I only take a star away because I really think it matters to shred the chicken five hours in. Also, I used 3 chicken breasts and only 12 oz of wing sauce and it was just fine; I think 17.5 oz might be a bit much. So yummy! Will definitely make this again!

Dill Sauce
Yummy! I added a little garlic to this because I was serving it with garlic salmon. It was terrific.

Liz's Astounding Chocolate Chip Cookies
These cookies are very easy and super soft and chocolatey. I make many different kinds of cookies and these are the ones that I pick when I need to make them relatively quickly. I usually leave them in the oven for about 10-11 minutes, though.
