About this Cook
I am a mother of four and try to do most of my cooking and baking from scratch. My husband has always enjoyed the food and goodies I've made. I am a stay at home mom and I enjoy experimenting with different recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts that get made more often than not is apple crisp, all kinds of cookies and banana strawberry bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
There is the traditional Christmas dinner, Turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes with fried onions, sweet potatoe cassarole, green bean cassarole and other veggies. Then there is the french toast bunnies for Easter. All of which my family look forward to.
My cooking triumphs
A breading I made by mixing bread crumbs and a variety of spices that is good for potatoe wedges or most meats.
My cooking tragedies
When I mixed up corn starch and icing sugar for a shortbread cookie recipe. I had to throw the whole batch out. Oooops!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III
Wonderful, moist, easy cake. This one will be in my recipe book forever. Very versatile...I was out of oil so I used margrine and it was easy and totally yummy on the first try.

Whipped Shortbread Cookies
This is a terrific, melt in your mouth shortbread that is incredibly easy and fast. It also works aswell with margarine but the taste is better with butter. Thank you.

Fried Apple Pies
I wasn't fond of the apple sauce type filling so I made very thin slices of apples and when they were cooked pretty well soft, I turned the heat up to med/high and added 1Tbsp. cornstarch mixed with 2Tbls water to thicken the sauce. I have to triple the recipe for my family of 5 and they love it. I also replaced half the flour with whole wheat flour and it was amazing. Thanks for the great new recipe, it will be going through my family for years.
