Crostini D'Emily

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2013
We all loved it but what surprised me was how much my four year old did. He's not a big fan of bread or toast but ever since I made it he keeps asking for it - huge compliment!

White Cake Frosting I

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2013
Just like lots of others, I didn't have powdered butter flavoring so I used 1/2 cup shortening & 1/4 cup butter and it turned out great - I got lots of compliments. I did find that I had to mix it by hand at first to incorporate the icing sugar and then use my hand-held mixer to keep the sugar from going all over the place.

Irish Cream Chocolate Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2012
Excellent! I took the advice of one of the reviewers and did a steam bath (as opposed to a water bath) and it looked beautiful. It was a little underdone in the middle so I'll give it an extra 5 min next time - don't know if that was because of the steam bath. Will definitely make again!

Leftover Chicken a la King

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2012
Great way to use left-over chicken. I didn't have evaporated milk so I used some homo instead and it was fine. I also added some worcestershire sauce for flavouring.

Simple 'N' Delicious Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2010
Perfect! Made it as a birthday cake for my husband and everyone loved it! He said it's a definite do-over. The only change I made was half coffee and half coffee liqueur because he wanted alcohol in his cake.

Candied Apples II

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
Don't change a thing! After a few trials & errors I got it just right... I tried using Koolaid and my husband didn't like it. Also, if you work fast enough you can get all of the apples coated without putting the pan in boiling water - although I found it was only enough to coat 12 small mcintoshs. Using a thermometer is crucial as the one time I didn't have it hot enough and the candy didn't harden (sticky & messy), and the other time I cooked it too long and it had a burnt taste. One last note - as others have commented, once it gets boiling don't stir or it won't thicken. Will definitely be making again!
