Chocolate Frosting I

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
This frosting was very yummy!!! The taste deserves a five but overall it earns a four. The frosting was very pretty and glossy but it took a while to get it to the right consistency. It took way more sugar than called for to make it perfect. I also added just a little bit of vanilla flavoring. Very yummy with chocolate cupcakes. I will never buy frosting from the store again. Thanks for sharing.

Must have done something wrong. The frosting turned into rock candy.

Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Delight

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2009
Very good and sweet. We spread cream cheese on one tortilla and butter on the other to see which tasted better. They were both equally good but the butter does tend to leak out.

The Best Meatballs You'll Ever Have

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
Yum!!! These were so good and moist. I left out the red pepper flakes and cajun seasoning. I also cut back the Worcesterchire sauce to 1 tablespoon since there were complaints about it being too strong. In place of yellow mustard I used spicy brown mustard. And I also substitued minced onion for chopped onion and garlic powder for garlic cloves. I baked these for 30 minutes on 350, flipping them half way through.

Honey Bun Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
This is a very yummy cake. The glaze is a wee bit overpowering so I will make without the glaze next time. I didn't have a box of yellow cake mix so I used one that got from the site. For cake mix: 2 1/3 cups cake flour (2 tablespoons per 1 cup of all purpose flour for a sub for cake flour), 1 tablespoon baking powder, 3/4 teaspoon salt, and 2 cups sugar. I will probably double the cinnamon and brown sugar next time just because it is so yummy and gooey and the cake mix recipe makes a little bit more than a regular box of cake mix. I also used about 1 cup of applesauce instead of the 2/3 called for on account of the cake mix that I used. I also used a Bundt pan for this and it was very pretty!

Golden Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2009
After sifting through over 300 reviews, I came up with a conclusion. I used minced onion instead of real onion on the account that I didn't feel like chopping an onion. I sauteed the minced onion and canned mushrooms in butter. Then I browned the pork chops, adding Italian seasoning, garlic, and pepper to each side. I put the chops in a pan and poured 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 can cream of celery soup, mushrooms, and tad of milk over them. Baked for about 35 minutes and they were yummy. Goes great with rice and green beans.

Krissy's Best Ever Corn Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
Very good muffins. To cut down on the butter, I used 1/4 cup instead of 1/2 and added just a little bit more milk. I also cut back on the sugar to 1/2 cup and they were not too sweet. After making the muffins, I reread the recipe and realized I forgot the baking powder but I didn't notice a difference. I also omitted the corn.

The Best Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
I used this recipe for the sauce and it was very good. Instead of flour, I used cornstarch and I added a few squirts of ketchup. This was very good with "The Best Meatballs You'll Ever Have" recipe from this site.

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
Very good. I used the one for a yellow cake and the recipe called for unsweetened applesauce in place of shortening or oil. This is perfect to be used in place of boxed mixes.

Vanilla - Chocolate Powdered Sugar Frosting

Reviewed: May 9, 2009
This frosting was pretty good though it took a while to get the texture just right. I would suggest using a little less sugar. I used corn starch to thicken the frosting because mine was a little runny but I didn't want to add sugar because it was already to sweet.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
Amazing!!! No one could stop eating this. I didn't have any mushrooms, bay leaves, or garlic cloves and I didn't miss them. In place of the garlic cloves I used garlic powder. I doubled the sauce and added a little brown sugar and a squirt of ketchup to it and it was wonderful. I omitted the flour and added cornstarch after taking the chicken out. We're having the leftover chicken over our salad tonight.

These were okay but not the best. I've had better. I even reduced the amount of baking powder and I could still taste it. They are better warmed over the next day.

Grilled Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
I eat this sandwich just about everyday for lunch. Sometimes I mix a little chocolate peanut butter and regular peanut butter together and it is so yummy!!! I also drizzle a little honey over my bananas. I usually stick it in the sandwich maker and BAM! I have an excellent lunch. Nothing beats melted peanut butter!

Chicken Enchilada Casserole II

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2009
This is very good as is but for one exception. I give this 4 stars because of the tortillas. They have a gross consistency after baking. The casserole would be perfect if you left out the toritillas. I know it is supposed to be a casserole but it would be great to use as a filling to make actual enchiladas.

Dinosaur Cake

Reviewed: May 20, 2009
Two words . . . "crumb coat" (slight cringe). Crumb coating is completely and absolutely neccesary. It took forever to crumb coat it but I got it done and I'm glad I did. This has to be the cutest cake ever. It is very simple and easy to make. The main body of my dinosaur split down the middle but with a little frosting, I "glued" it back together. For a more homemade taste, I suggest using the chocolate cake recipe on the back of the Hershey's Cocoa box. Heavenly!!! I will post a picture soon.

This is my first time making Chicken Enchiladas and I will definitely stick with this recipe. It was so good!!!! In place of the chiles I used Rotel, added black olives, and used minced onion in place of the onion.
