Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2012
This spread has excellent flavor, but mine did not turn out the consistency for spreading on bagels (and since the submitter states it's good on bagels, I thought this was important to mention). My daughter suggested freezing it in popsicle molds, and that worked well. Delicious popsicles.

Best Cherry Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
Made this for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it. The only problem was that the filling was somewhat runny, even though it was very thick when I put it in the crust to bake. Will definitely make again.

Passion Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2011
These are just o.k. Seems like they're missing something, as the flavor is pretty bland and one-dimensional. Vanilla, maybe? Also found the peanut butter and sweetened condensed milk mixture hard to spread without destroying the bottom oatmeal layer.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
I usually don't like cornbread, but this is outstanding. Moist and flavorful. Thanks for the recipe!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
I have made a lot of brownies in my life, and this is my favorite recipe. Rich and fudgy with a shiny top, but not so rich that you feel sick after eating one. The only change I make is to use half brown sugar and half white.

Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
This is more like a fresh fruit dump cake than a cobbler. Not that that's a bad thing, just don't expect a traditional-type cobbler. It was very good the day I made it (with fresh peaches and blueberries). It got mushy by the next day, though.

Caramel Shortbread Squares

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
Great recipe. The flavor is wonderful. I added a couple tablespoons of butter to the chocolate (personal preference), but that's the only modification I made. As other reviewers have noted, the shortbread part of these bars can get crumbly. For that reason, I wouldn't take these to an indoor event, but for eating at home, they're amazing!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
Amazing recipe. My family loved it with vanilla ice cream. I used a mixture of Jonathan and Granny Smith apples, and the combo was perfect. I ignored the advice of other reviewers to leave out the liquid (I used apple juice), and I regret that, as it turned out a tad more watery than I like. It really needs no water or other liquid. Other than that, perfect recipe.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
Wonderful! Easy, rich, and creamy. I followed the recipe exactly, using arborio rice and 2 percent milk. Definitely a keeper!

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
These cookies have the most amazing peanut butter flavor. I make the recipe as is and it is perfect. For the best flavor and texture, you definitely need to take them out before they look done. The only problem I have experienced is that they tend to fall apart more easily than the average cookie. Great recipe!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
This is definitely my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe. I add a half teaspoon of salt to enhance the flavor, but otherwise I have found the recipe to be perfect as is.

Beth's Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
Wonderful. I agree that the frosting is really the star of the show here, but the cakey cookies are the perfect vehicle for the frosting. I had to triple the frosting recipe to have enough, and I added a teaspoon of orange extract to the cookie dough (just because I had it on hand). Another great recipe, Beth!
