Broccoli Soup
This is oh so lovely! One potato was perfect for me. I can't imagine how thick it would be if a second potato was added. Not sure why so many people are skipping on the nutmeg. I thought it was a nice touch. Don't go crazy and add a bunch of "extras" to this soup, unless its spices though I didn't think it was needed. It totally defeats the purpose of this being a low calorie soup! A little fresh hot pepper is a nice kick if you want some heat. Oh, and since I'm the only person who seems to do the da** dishes in this house, I just used a potato masher instead of adding the pain of taking apart and cleaning the blender. I started mashing 13 mins into the cooking and allowed the soup to simmer and thicken for another 5.

Sunday Best Fruit Salad
I had to tell my grandmother to retire her recipe because this one beats it by far. Sorry grandma. I added some chopped grapes and blueberries like previous reviews. Instead of slicing the kiwis, I just chopped them into chunks. The hold better if you're lazy like me and just want to toss everything together. I doubled the banana, mainly because I wanted to use up the whole bunch. Loved it. Oh, and instead pineapple chunks, get the pineapple tid bits. The smaller pieces blend in nicely with the rest of the fruit. Update: I think this recipe would be even better if a fresh peach pie filling is used instead of the canned. Everything is so fresh but the overly soft canned peaches bring it down. I recommend using a pie filling recipe from this website to create the "goo" that comes from the can with fresh peaches when they are in season. 2013 Update: I've made this many times. Skip the canned peach pie filling. Use fresh peaches when in season and a dash of cinnamon.

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks
I prepared this ahead of time and froze for a meal later in the week. I used fresh onion because it was what I had on hand. The boyfriend loved this. His plate was clean. Even the fat was gone! Apart from using fresh onion vs. the powder, DO NOT CHANGE A THING.
