Alison's Gluten Free Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
This is the 1st gluten free recipe that has worked. I have a Cuisinart Convection Bread Machine; it is hard finding gluten free recipes that don't take alot of different flours. This recipe I adjusted the flour as follows: I only had Red Mill GF All Purpose Baking Flour and brown rice flour. I used 1 3/4 C. GF All Purpose Baking Flour and 1 1/2 C. brown rice flour. The bread came out beautifully. My husband and I aren't GF intolerant, only my daughter, and we really enjoyed the bread too. Thank you, Rene49

Curried Zucchini Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
Very good! I tried this recipe this evening. My zucchini is some of the last from my garden and I was impressed by the texture and the flavor. I used Knorr chicken broth cubes. I will definately make this recipe again. Irene from Poulsbo, WA

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
Definately a first rate recipe. I followed some earlier suggestions and instead of butter used half oil and half applesause and for the spices, I doubled them all for an excellent gingerbread. My husband just loves it. We will keep this as a favorite family recipe. Irene from Port Gamble, WA

Stained Glass Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
I love how this handles. I used regular Christmas cookie cutters and life savers. Parchment paper is the best invention for cookies. I used one piece for the entire batch of cookies. I think the next time I will up the measurement for the spices from 1/4 to 1/2 tesp. I could hardly taste the spices in he cookies. I also uped the oven temp. from 350 to 375 and baked the cookies for 7 minutes for a crispier cookie, my husband really loves these.

Easy Strata and Variations

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2008
I made this for a family of wheat intolerant and those that aren't wheat sensative by using a store bought loaf of wheat free bread adding broccoli, turkey sausage and goat cheese. We all were really impressed with the ease of putting it together and the variations offered. Thank you, I will definately make this again. Irene

Easy Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
I used a picnic ham needing cooked and I cooked it in the oven overnight. I put my ham and all the ingredients in an oven friendly stock pot with the rest of the ingredients, except for maple syrup which I didn't have, and set my oven at 225 degrees and I went to bed. I let the ham cook verrrry sloooowly all night and what a ham. It was literally falling apart tender and what flavor. I am very impressed by this recipe, thank you. I will definately do this one again. Irene

Way too sweet, if I try them again I will reduce the 2 cups confectioners' sugar to maybe 1 1/4 cups. Irene

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2009
I made 24 muffins, baked for 35 to 40 min. and will make again. I used 1/2 cup oil and 1/2 cup applesauce. I usually put nuts & mini chocolate chips in my zucchini and banana bread and I forgot this time but they still tasted great. I will use this recipe again.

Zucchini Patties

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2009
Crispy brown crust, great taste. I added 1/2 tsp oregano and used 1/2 cup bisquick mix instead of flour. I also salted my zucchini and drained off the water and rinsed before mixing, no watery batter. Great recipe.
