Golden Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
I lost this recipe, glad to find it again! These cookies are delicious, and use ingredients I almost always have around the house. I never use shortening - so when a cookie recipe calls for it, I usually pass on that recipe. The brown sugar gives these cookies some real flavour, and the texture is chewy and wonderful.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
Easy, Quick, and sooo tasty! I've made this numerous times & is a big hit. I've made it different ways, depending on who its for and what is on hand. I've omitted the artichoke before - and once I even omitted the artichoke AND the spinach for a really picky eater! Thanks for the recipe.. I'll probably never search for another spinach dip again!

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
This is pretty good - though I made it with all of Jilly's changes, so I really think this is a different recipe in the end :)

Herbed Salmon Steaks

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
This was easy to make and delicious. I did not crush my crackers as fine as some might like (see picture), but personally I liked it this way. Also a tip - take the extra crumb mixture from the bowl, spoon it over the steaks and push it into the steaks with your spoon. The more topping the better, in my opinion!

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
This was my first time making sugar cookies from scratch - also my first time making cut-out cookies. This dough was great to work with, and the cookies came out tasting great! My only trouble at first was my dough seemed a bit dry, I ended up adding about 1 tbsp more butter and the problem was easily fixed.

Chocolate Macaroons I

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
These were good, but almost too sweet. I used sweetened flaked coconut - next time I'll try unsweetened. The texture, presentation & ease of recipe was great though.

Rice Sand Castles

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
This was simple, tasted okay & cute presentation. I have to only give it 3 stars, as I was the only one who seemed to like it. It was a bit flavourless, I may try boiling the rice with chicken broth next time.

Coconut Cream Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
Amazing! I have to be careful, I could easily polish this whole cake off on my own.. lol - the coconut flavour is not as strong as I'd thought it would be. You could easily add more coconut extract to the batter or even the icing. I might try a different whipped cream/icing recipe next time though - tastes great but I'd like something thicker for presentation
