Hot Pepper Mustard

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2008
This recipe was just what I was looking for! I followed the instructions exactly and it turned out wonderful! The only problem I had was stirring in the flour mixture. It turned into a bunch of clumps. I waited till the recipe cooled a little and then using a whisk, the clumps disappeared. Great recipe! I plan on handing jars out at Christmas time for teachers with bag of pretzels!

Overnight French Toast II

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
I found this recipe after I couldn't find my mother's recipe for Skiiers French Toast....I love this recipe! There were many complaints about this recipe, but I didn't have any problems. Here are some things I did do that weren't clear in the directions....I used the whole loaf of bread making a double layer. I doubled the syrup recipe, pouring most of it on the bottom and a little in between layers, but not using all of it just in case it would be too sweet. I did not time the baking, I just kept checking on it while the kids opened their Christmas presents, but I really don't think it took too much time....maybe a little over the recommended 45 minutes. I just watched it till the top started to brown. It was not mushy, or too sweet...I really think it was just right. I did use a Pampered Chef stoneware baking dish, maybe that's why I didn't have any problems with the syrup getting hard after it cooled. I hate to say it, but I like this recipe better than my mom's!

Overnight Cinnamon Rolls II

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
Awesome! I was skeptical about letting them in room temp all night, afraid I would wake up to rolls overflowing. BUT they were perfect! I did not add the raisins, nor did I add any icing on top. These cinnamon rolls were perfect and will be made many more times here at my house! Thanks for the recipe!--Okay, I made these again, but didn't have the pudding. Boy did they turn out fantastic! I like them better without the pudding mix added (and raisins or icing). They are more like a sticky bun, all ooey, and gooey!

Gram's Ham Loaf

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
Exactly the recipe I was looking for. This is authentic PA Dutch, just like my Gram used to make. The big difference between this and other recipes is the graham crackers. I skipped the tomato soup though, and added some pineapple juice to the topping. I then put some pineapples on top the loaf while it bakes....yum!

Watermelon Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
Great Recipe! I made these for my 2 years old's birthday party (we had a watermelon theme) and everyone loved them. The only thing I might change if I make them again would be to add some Almond Extract!

Blueberry Orange Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
This recipe is terrific! I was originally looking for lemon blueberry bread, but decided to make the orange because I already had them on hand. The flavors go great together! This had terrific flavor and texture! I had some extra orange juice from the oranges I used, so I mixed in some confectioners sugar to make glaze and sprinkled on top! Turned out great!

Fresh Strawberry Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
I was hesitant to make this cake after reading some of the reviews, but am glad I did go ahead and make it. I had absolutely no problems with the cake at all. I thought it had wonderful flavor, without whipped cream or ice cream. My family actually preferred to eat it the next day after it chilled in the refrigerator. I had no problems with the cake sticking to the pan, no problems cooking it, and it looked really pretty. My cake looked just like the one in the picture! Yummy!

Best Ever Layered Mexican Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2009
Very good recipe. I did make some adjustments. To me, refried beans are very bland. So I stirred in a small can of chopped jalepeno peppers into the beans before spreading them into the pan. I topped the sour cream mixture with cheese and that was it, I didn't add the other toppings. Very yummy!

Fantastic chicken...got thumbs up from everyone in the family! I didn't have bacon bits, so I fried up 4 pieces of bacon, then browned the chicken in the bacon fat. YUMMY! This one is a keeper!!

Peanut Butter Cornflake Crunch Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
I grew up on this recipe and couldn't find my mother's. So happy to find it on here! I made it exactly as written. The cornflakes may look dry at first but as long as you mixed it well they should taste fine. I wouldn't recommend lowering the amt of cornflakes, then it would be too gooey. Great snack for a night you have a craving! So esay to make!

Normal Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
Not a bad recipe...took the advice of others and added 1 cup of brown sugar. My boys thought it was a little too sweet. Maybe next time I will only use 1/2 cup brown sugar, but I really think it needed the sweetness to the sauce. Served with steamed broccoli and white rice...almost like a Chinese dish. Had a nice flavor and will probably make again, super easy!!!

Deni's Strawberry Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
Taste good, but the consistancy was way too thin...I added another package of cream cheese and this seemed to help. Good flavor...atleast a good base recipe to make something quick. Thought another way to make it better would be to fold in a container of whipped cream instead of adding another pkg of cream cheese.

Really not my cup of tea...although my one son really liked it, no one else did. I couldn't eat it, but the rest of my family was able to. Don't think I will be making again. Sorry.

Snickerdoodles I

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
I followed this recipe exactly and they turned out perfect! They taste just like the ones we used to make when I was a little girl! I saw in some of the other reviews to omit the cream of tartar to make the cookies soft. DO NOT do this. The cream of tartar is what gives snickerdoodles that special flavor. Otherwise you might as well just make sugar cookies. To keep these soft, do not overbake!! It also helps to use stoneware, the sugar on the bottom of the cookie will not get hard or burn. I use Pampered Chef Stones. Wonderful recipe that I will keep and use!
