Apple Rhubarb Crumble

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
This was way too sweet for mine and my husband's taste. I had even cut back on the brown and regular sugar by 1/4 cup each (I made it for four servings). I will try making it again with even less sugar as I did like the maple taste.

Barley Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
This was the blandest thing I have ever made. Somehow my husband and I rescued it with lime and cumin after first trying it. For the amount of time it took and the outcome I don't think I will make it again.

I added 1/2 a jalapeno pepper and used two cans of unico mixed beans and this turned out great!

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
I make this extra healthy by using whole wheat flour, all fruit instead of jam, and cut the butter by 1/4 cup and add 1/2 cup almond butter. It is very yummy but the top layer ends up being very crumbly because of the almond butter. Good, easy recipe!

Bow-Tie Pasta With Red Pepper Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
I liked this but won't add the balsamic vinegar. It was too strong and it didn't really add to it at all. Overall really good and easy to make.

Whipped Garlic

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
This was aweful! I wasted 9 heads of perfectly roasted garlic! It was SO salty I think I felt my blood pressure rise! I only put in half the amount of salt. Did I miss something? If you roast it, do you put no salt in? I think I might try this again but with no salt. Then again, I think I have better things to do with that much garlic!

Vegan Lemon Poppy Scones

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
These were really yummy, although i didn't make them vegan (used regular milk and butter). I used whole wheat and still didn't need all the liquid. I will use less next time but my husband loved them and thinks they are the best!

Mediterranean Fish Stew

So Yummy! My husband who never eats left overs, eat this for three nights straight! My grocery store didn't have halibut so I used bass and it was so tender! Yum!

Heavenly Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
Sorry, these were a no go for me. I wouldn't rate it so low if it hadn't taken over 2 hours to make (probably a 3 if it had taken less than an hour). I followed the recipe and they were so bland, the dough was gross and we had to add butter and lots more sugar and cinnamon mixture just to eat them. I do lots of healthy baking and converting recipes into healthier versions of themselves but a no to these.

Creamy Italian White Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
This soup was fantastic! I added extra lemon as I was using it as a first course (so portions were small). Will definitely make again!

D'Amaretti Biscotti

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
Good recipe! They always get better with age so at first I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. Be patient and give a few days for the taste to mingle.

Fantastic Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
Great recipe but I would double as you can never get enough, thick focaccia bread. I did this recipe for a family dinner and topped one half with rosemary, slat and pepper, and the other half the traditional way my nonna did it, lots of salt and pepper and anchovies. So good!

One of my favorite recipes! I make this recipe often and can eat it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Leftovers are great salad toppers in the summer!

Portobello Mushroom Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
A great recipe! It takes a bit longer to prepare (so I don't make it often), but it reminds me of my mom's recipe (except her was beef and I am a vegetarian so it is a great compromise!)!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

I brought this to a baby shower and everyone loved it. So easy to make and quick. I didn't add any sugar to the mix so it was more tart.

Asian Salmon

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2012
This is a great recipe to have on hand! Everything but the salmon is pretty much a staple so you can always have great tasting salmon when you get it fresh. I make this recipe for two but always double to sauce so there is lots for the rice.

Couscous a la Me!

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2013
Blah! So bland... And I like healthy eating but this had nothing to offer. Tried to save this by adding cumin and lime but it couldn't be rescued. Unfortunate as I made enough to freeze for a second meal and it will probably never get eaten.
