Blueberry Crisp II

I am an excellent southern cook, and I did not enjoy this....the topping came out almost doughy, but definitely not crunchy as I would expect Crisp to be. The taste was fine, but the texture was not right. There are better recipes for crisps

Thai Chicken Curry with Pineapple

Very very good. I didn't have the curry paste, but used some lemon grass and extra curry. Everything else was as stated. It was VERY good!

Swedish Meatballs

BE CAREFUL - the first item in the recipe should be only 2/3 cup of evap. milk (not 1 2/3 cups) Later in the recipe you will make sauce with 1 cup of evaporated milk. Unfortunately I did not see this until I put all the evap. milk in my meat mixture. We shall see how they turn out. DEFINITELY NEEDS AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE WRITING OF THIS RECIPE! 3 stars for the recipe content...

Stracciatella II

I am an experienced cook and did not find this recipe very flavorful. It was bland and missing something. Not sure where the egg is in the picture, but in my dish there was ALOT of egg all over the top of the soup (floating). This made the appearance unappealing.

Fresh Apple Cake II

This cake certainly did not live up to the rave reviews I read here. I thought the cake was over-run by the vanilla extract. I used pink lady apples that we picked from the orchard, they were sweet and juicy. I added a tablespoon each of lemon and orange juices to the sugar/apples mix to keep the apples from browning and b/c some reviewers noted the cake was dry. The didn't hold together when done but that may have been b/c I didn't chop the apples very finely. I guess the biggest disappointment was the overwhelming vanilla taste. I'll not make this again. I want an apple cake that tastes like apples.

Spinach Quiche

Well I don't think this recipe needs anymore reviews...we all can't be wrong! I've made this recipe at least 5 times now and changed it a bit by adding some cubbed ham or crumbled bacon, but it really needs nothing. I just wanted to add some of our favorites. Everyone loves it! To make it feed our family with a leftover for lunch, I make it deep dish by streching my pie crust a little wider, using 6 eggs and 1 cup non-fat half-half and 1/4 cup lowfat milk. Yummy. Sometimes I make two and freeze one after cooking. Excellent!

Pork Chops in Beer

This was EXCELLENT! Great flavor and quick and easy to put together! I did season the chops and added a sprinkle of Worchestire sauce. Family loved it over rice with the sauce. Yumm!

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Despite the overwhelming postive feedback, as an experienced cook, I thought this recipe was nothing to rave about. It was not creamy and the cheese did not seem to dislove properly. It did not resemble or taste anything like Panera's version. I will not make again.

Amy's Garlic Egg Chicken

I have looked at this recipe for over a year and all of the rave reviews. I didn't like this recipe at all. I will not make this one again. The flavor was just all garlic which I don't think blends well with the chicken in such mass quantity. And I say this as a garlic lover. Thanks, but no thanks.

Mexican Bean Pie

Wow this really was delicious! I made it in a pie dish! I can't imagine this ever being bland unless you forgot to add the cumin/chili powder! Even my kids who don't eat mexican liked the dish! I'm passing this one out to my friends! thanks for sharing!

Anniversary Chicken I

GREAT! I didn't have teryaki sauce, so I substituted Worcestershire sauce, and marinated them about 15 mins before browning. Everyone loved it. Will try next time with the teryaki sauce, and I"m sure it will be just as good!

Cheddar Chicken

After reading the reviews I added a little garlic powder and onion powder as well as salt/pepper and it came out great. I cut my chicken breasts in half (long ways) to make them thinner and should have adjusted the cooking time b/c mine turned out a little on the dry side. Very tasty with an interesting crunch!
