Chef Luigi and Chef Juan Carlos are....

Reunited and it feels so good,
Reunited 'cause we understood
There's one perfect fit
And, sugar, this one is it
We both are so excited
'Cause we're reunited,
Hey, hey...
They're back...back together, that is!  Yep, the dangerous duo has reunited to help midwestchef get ready for the 4th Annual Buckeye Bash this Saturday.  Chef Luigi arrived late this afternoon.  Who'd have thought that when they last met in New Mexico, they'd be together again - this time on Ohio!  They are cooking up a storm and having a blast.  [If you don't remember the fun they had and antics they pulled, read some of Chef Luigi's and/or midwestchef's old blogs.]
Juan Carlos and Luigi - together again...ready to cook up a storm!

Those two together? Sounds like trouble to me! Better keep an eye on 'em! But be sure to tell us all their antics.

Keeping them out of trouble may be more stress than I need this week!~

Get that grill fired up boys, I'm coming for BBQ!
Jun. 12, 2013 9:01 am
Watch out! Those two are party animals!
Jun. 12, 2013 9:21 am
The tools of the trade are Christmas ornaments I found online several years ago when I was trying to make a Christmas Kitchen Wreath. [I have NO talent in that area.] Stuck them away to use on shower gifts or whatever; finally found a "good" use for them!
Jun. 12, 2013 9:39 am
I had to run them out of the kitchen while I concocted a bbq sauce starting with a jar of Harry & David's Charred Pineapple Relish w/ candied peppers. How's that sound?
Jun. 12, 2013 10:58 am
Yum on the BBQ sauce. The tools are very cute. Nice additions.

Thanks, Peggy

Awww, they look so tiny. Click on the photo and they get a little bigger. Double mischief but their Italian charm will let them get away with most anything? ["Si! Naturalmente!"]
Jun. 12, 2013 5:18 pm
Between the Italian and Mexican accents, it gets pretty confusing around here!

Looks like I'll finally meet that rotund nomad of cuisine! As for Chef Jaun Carlos, I'll be happy to get some much needed instruction of Mexican culinary delights! See y'all Saturday!

Have a wonderful time!
Jun. 16, 2013 6:54 am
I did have a great time - got to meet some new peeps and ate too much good food - whatdaya expect from a crew from allrecipes. mwc was really disappointed in her deviled eggs, tho' - not much flavor and not done enough in the center. boohoo
Jun. 16, 2013 7:05 am
Carrie made German Potato Salad and zucchini brownies, sassyoldlady brought Pecan Pies, baked beans and a most delicious Spinach Dip in a bread bowl. Mike's Linda made a sugar-free cherry pie (that tasted as good or better than our usual)and Mike made his famous party mix-so good with all the extra additives like pumpernickel sticks; bellepepper brought "Redneck Caviar" with 'scoops' that really got us off to a good start. mwc had peach salsa/cream cheese dip and fruit salad, plus the usual crudité with dill dip. We all needed to let out our pants when this feast was over.

It was a blast!

About Me
Married w/ pets + three kids and six grandkids. Retired after 30 years of teaching grades K-7. Moved to NM 10 years ago. Loved it there. Moved back to Ohio to be closer to family.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make soups. Chili, beef vegetable, ham and bean, and tortilla soups are our favs. I like casseroles - one dish dinners are the best! I think the slow cooker is about the best cooking aid in my kitchen. I love to try new recipes, that's what makes this a super website; that and all the cool contributors.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Anything I did with my grandmother! Thanksgiving at Grandma's house was the best. She wanted to do it all - and she was a great cook. Making taffy with her was such a treat! I remember the first time she made pizza (from a box). She wasn't too sure about pizza! But in the mid 1950's, none of us midwesterners were too sure about pizza!
My cooking triumphs
When I was 13, I entered seven different baked goods (mostly cakes) in open class at the fair, competing against adult cooks with great records. I took first place with all but one entry, which got a second place ribbon.
My cooking tragedies
Looking back over the years, my biggest tragedy was making gravy...but thanks to CindyLepp, it is no longer a challenge! She sent me packets of dry gravy mixes!
