Southern Turkey Cornbread Pot Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
Great and tasty way to make a cornbread pot pie with some leftover turkey. I used this recipe and substituted one package of Jiffy corn muffin mix for the refrigerated cornbread twists and just spread it on (prepared as directed on the Jiffy box) and it turned out great! Will make again next Thanksgiving, or the next time I cook up a turkey.

Blue Cheese, Spinach Meat Loaf Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2012
When I told my family the name of this recipe, they all turned their noses up and didn't want me to make it. But, they gobbled these up and these were great the next day too. I didn't make any changes to this recipe and will make again. The individual serving sizes also makes this great for folks trying to control their portion sizes.

No Bake Bumpy Peanut Butter Nuggets

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2012
Easy to make with a toddler helping, and great for little hands to snack. I've made these with honey when I didn't have apple juice concentrate and they have been delish. I've also added flaxseed to boost the healthfulness of this snack.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies from Heaven

Just made these last night - what a rich and yummy cookie! I followed the advice of other reviewers and used 2 1/2 cups of flour, and 1 1/4 cups peanut butter - the texture turned out great.

Lasagna Roll Ups

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2013
Wow! Very easy to put together and no one realized there was tofu in this. I made one batch for dinner and froze the rest individually so I could pull them out to thaw in the morning and have an easy dinner for a weeknight.

Chicken Puffs

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2013
Easy and delicious! Next time I will make a sauce/gravy, but the inside was creamy. I cut down on the butter and only used 2 tbsp and it was still creamy and wonderful filling. I sprinkled the outside with garlic salt before baking. Will definitely be making these again.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2013
Love this recipe! I've made it twice now, and second time around I loved it with the following changes: add splash of white cooking wine. Make your own Italian dressing mix if you don't have the packaged kind on hand (very easy). Add about 3/4 cup sliced fresh mushrooms and frozen peas to taste. Use cream of mushroom soup and use 4 ounces of cream cheese. Delish, creamy and extremely easy. This will be a regular for me.

Italian Dressing Mix

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2013
Good basic recipe. I made this so I could use it for cooking chicken for the slow cooker chicken stroganoff on this site. First time I did the recipe as it stated and it was too salty. Second time around I omitted the extra 2tbs salt and it was perfect. Will keep this on hand for dressing and cooking.

Make-Ahead Spinach Manicotti

Reviewed: May 28, 2010
I made this while pregnant, to have a nice homemade meal to look forward to after the baby came. Made it when my in-laws were visiting and they agreed that it was delicious - and everyone had a 2nd helping. I added a bit more sauce to the pan since I was using a large pan to freeze these in.

Gobble Up Granola Snacks

Easy and delicious! This is a great basic recipe that you can customize easily to what you would like in it and substitutions are a snap. I used cherry flavored craisins, pecans, and flaked coconut in mine. Will play around with chocolate chips next time.

I made this following the recipe and think that the next time I make this I will use fresh mushrooms and marinade the beef. Good recipe though!

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
My husband declared this recipe to be "man candy" and raved about the flavorful chops. We had larger than average chops, which took a bit longer to cook. A note about the sauce - I grew a little impatient while waiting for the sauce to reduce and whisked in 1 tsp flour to thicken up a bit. The sauce really makes the flavors of the lamb "pop," but I would suggest drizzling a little of the sauce on to serve and then pour over with a gravy boat for your own taste. Thanks for the great recipe!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
Just made these for a party we were having and everyone raved about these cookies. Make sure to keep the remaining dough chilled in the fridge while rolling and cutting out the cookies. Also, keep a close eye on these while in the oven, when the edges just start to brown - take them out (if you like slightly chewy/moist cookies). To save time, just make the dough ahead and take out when you want some fresh baked holiday cookies.

Unbelievable Spinach Calzones

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
Very good recipe! I used Pillsbury refrigerated pizza crust instead of the frozen bread dough and I like the texture that you end up with. Other additions that I recommend would be a dash of garlic powder (to taste) and any other good additions to the filling that you have around (black olives, mushrooms, etc). Very good meal to pull together rather quickly when you want something filling and comforting.

Easy Baked Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2008
I took a cue from a member review here and made the sauce from the "Chicken Cordon Bleu II" recipe and served the sauce with this recipe - a real treat! Don't be afraid of using as many toothpicks as needed to keep the cheese from oozing out - I was generous with the toothpicks and the cheese stayed in place.

Excellent winter drink! Like others I used more OJ than the one orange, but otherwise made as directed. Our au pair from Austria says this is just like what they drink at home. Will be a holiday favorite at our house from now on.

You can definitely cut back on the butter in this recipe and it still tastes delish! My picky two year old even loves this one, more like a very sweet main dish.
