I love this slaw with kale from my local farmers market. I usually substitute brocoli slaw instead of the cabbage and carrots. I use organic sugar instead of maple syrup. Also have used red wine vinegar instead of balsamic. Great healthy salad for the winter!

Best Butternut Squash Soup Ever

This is the first time I've ever tasted butternut squash. I added a little half n half as one of the reviewers suggested and used dried thyme instead of fresh. It was delicious.

Thai Red Chicken Curry

Love this recipe. Use with chicken or shrimp. I also add other veggies that I have on hand. I also add ground coriander in place of the fresh cilantro.

Cranberry Sauce I

I will never purchase cranberry sauce again! I squeezed fresh oranges for the juice and added 1/4 tsp. cinnamon. We used the small amount of leftover cranberry sauce as a spread on homemade yeast rolls. It was delicious!

Best of the Best Blueberry Muffins

This is a favorite of my kids! I've added flax seed for a healthier muffin and used half white sugar, half splenda. Also try adding a little lemon flavoring or vanilla flavoring for added zest.

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

I usually create a flavorable rub adding garlic, minced onion, red pepper and a few other spices to the salt and pepper. Delicious every time.

White Bean 'n' Ham Soup

I used the left over ham from Thanksgiving that had been seasoned with cloves and brown sugar. I left out the carrots and bay leaf. It was still great! The plan was to let it simmer for 2 hours as suggested by other reviewers, however, my son (home from college) smelled the delicious aroma and the soup didn't last any longer!
