Sales Manager for a global software company. I work long hours and have few hobbies. My family, Cooking, Archery and Guitar are my few getaways from my working life. When I cook it's not to calorie count, it's to create, taste, modify and improve on gorgeous flavors.
My favorite things to cook
I do it all. BBQ is definitely my favorite. Presently I've done some baking. Fondant barbie cake for my daughter, bread, buns, fudge, candy. I would describe my self as a designer cooker but most certainly heterosexual. I would rather cook than watch sports. Very tough to explain to the boys they just don't get it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our meals were very English and bland while I was growing up. I believe that is why I started cooking, to have moisture in my meat or spice other than salt and pepper. I look to cook non-traditionally.
My cooking triumphs
I'm not sure if it's a triumph but I put together the Almond-Crusted Halibut Crystal Symphony with a few of my own tweaks. Of all things that are holy I swear it sent me off my feet it was so good. If you want to impress with a nice wine and dinner evening this is the meal to do it with.
My cooking tragedies
4 beautiful racks of marinated baby back ribs dry rubbed, slow cooked for 4 hours cool racked for 20 mins to firm up the meat (man this was going to be good). The guests came, I threw the ribs on a smoking hot grill to give them a quick char before my special sauce. Pour a drink... and a massive grease fire in my BBQ the ribs were gone! sigh.... Quickly I whipped up some rib-eyes.
