My entire family is pretty good in the kitchen, my grandfather started cooking in the service and to this day still cooks everyday. My Nana is the queen of the family favorites...stuffed peppers, swiss steak, etc. My mom is just like me, willing to try anything and also able to make a meal out of just about anything. I work all day in an office and tend bar on Friday nights, so quick and easy is my thing. I also do part time catering for family and friends, which I love.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook everything, however meditteranean, italian, and mexican are my favorites....not so good with the baking though.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I hosted my first thanksgiving last year and it was the best! My turkey looked like it was something that came out of a magazine spread. I guess my favorite family tradition is me and my mom in the kithcen on Thanksgiving morning before everyone else is there, having a mimosa while we put the turkey in the oven. She even came to MY house last year to have our drink, and get the bird on :)
My cooking triumphs
Probably that first Thanksgiving turkey, phew!!!
My cooking tragedies
Making a birthday cake for my fiancee...the cake totally cracked in half and I had his whole family about to descend. So I just filled the crack in with sliced bananas and whipped cream and called it banana "split" cake. No one bought it, but there were NO leftovers.
