About this Cook
I am recently married Virginia girl who somehow ended up living in Wisconsin. (I dream of moving back to a warmer climate one day!) I've always had a gift for baking, but hope to become a great cook as well. I'm starting with one new dinner recipe a week.
My favorite things to cook
Italian, Mexican, any type of baked goods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Most of my great cooking memories revolve around my grandmother (a true true southern belle). She can make anything and I could go on for hours about her cooking, but some traditions include oyster stew for breakfast on Christmas morning and the best ever coconut cake for Easter.
My cooking triumphs
My husband has always talked about red velvet cupcakes. He was obsessed, but had never had them (poor Wisconsin boy) so last year for his birthday I made a batch from scratch with cream cheese frosting. They were awesome!
My cooking tragedies
In high school I made a meatloaf for my sister, dad, and I that turned out awful! BLECH!! I can't even describe how bad it was.

Pizza Casserole
My MIL used to make a similar recipe for my husband growing up so when I came across I knew I had to make it. We both loved it!
