Awesome Yogurt Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2013
I never use Bisquick or baking mix, so I went online and looked up the ingredients. I used 1 cup of AP flour, 1 1/2 tsp. of baking powder, and 1/4 tsp. of salt sifted together. Then add 2 tbs. of melted butter or shortening. blend with fingertips to crumb. The only yogurt I had on hand was either peach or pineapple - I chose peach. I added a dash of milk and followed the rest of the recipe. I shaped the dough into a round, cut it into four pieces and baked. the biscuits are delicious and FLUFFY!!!!

Chicken a la King I

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2013
Good. I added onion and used canned milk. I did think that it needed a little something - a bit of garlic powder and dry mustard. Also left out the mushrooms (not a fan, but added frozen peas. Very easy and tasty.

World's Best Pasta Sauce!

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2013
I made this several months ago on a whim, but forgot to save it to my recipe file. I've been looking and looking for it. Here it is!!!! This is by far my favorite pasta sauce! We had it for dinner on rigatoni and I saved the rest in small batches in the freezer. It was amazing! Holy smoke this is good!

Never Fail Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2012
Wow, these are great. I made them exactly as written, but my dough was a little dry so I added about two tablespoons of mayo instead of more milk. These are flaky on the outside and moist and tender on the inside with a fabulous rich flavor.

Spinach Marie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
This is SOOOO yummy and so good. It'll convert anyone who claims not to like spinach. I made this (halved) for diner with meatloaf and mashed potatoes (which, IMHO, I make better than anyone in the world), and all I wanted to eat was this spinach. I made it just as the recipe called for, but added buttered crumbs on top and let them brown instead of the extra cheese.

Creamy Cinnamon Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2012
Very very good. I was raised on boiled rice pudding, so I know how it should be. This is an excellent recipe that would be pretty hard to mes up - even for a novice cook. Personally, I add cinnamon sticks rather than ground cinnamon (while it's cooking). Add the vanilla last thing so that it doesn't "cook off." YUMMY!

Greek Pasta Salad I

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2012
Very good. Very easy. Lots of ingredients, but fast to assemble. I substituted shredded parmesan instead of feta and used red onion because I had no green ones. I also used artichoke hearts. I used rotini pasta. This is a keeper!

Honey Cornbread

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2010
Very good! This is the one I was looking for! I took cues from the others and added some salt. I also had to use regular milk and butter for the cream, but it is absolutely fabulous. This will be "my" cornbread recipe from now on.

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2010
I made this exactly as directed, but I did not like it at all. It is sweet, but lacks flavor. I think I like a more corn-flavored cornbread. Otherwise, what's the point?

Banana Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2010
I've made nearly every banana muffin/bread recipe on here and this is far and away the very best. I made these exactly the way the recipe calls for and they were fabulous! The two of us gobbled up 4 just out of the oven. They were big and fluffy and moist and just really really good. Just like a bakery! You have to try these.

Campbell's Kitchen Chicken with Sun-Dried Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
I made this for the first time the other day. It's actually pretty good! My sauce was a little thick, so I added a bit of water. I cut up the chicken breasts after simmering, before putting them back in the sauce and topping the pasta. It doesn't taste like a "soup recipe" at all. Oh, and I added a little bacon for extra flavor. It looks like something from the Olive Garden with very little effort.

Country Apple Cobbler

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
This is so good. My only question is whether the amount of sugar is too much. It seems awfully sweet. I have a real sweet tooth too! I made it again tonight with 1/3 of the sugar and it was wonderful!

This is an excellent banana bread - moist and with a lot of flavor. That said, I did add some toasted pecan pieces for flavor.

I made this recipe with boneless chicken breasts, omitted the soup mix, and exchanged the farfalle for long-grain white rice. Very easy and very very good!

Cheesiest Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
This was just fantastic soup. I'm a mediocre cook at best and this was so EASY! I looked at the other reviews and did mash up the potatoes so much so that it would be chunky. I served it up it bowls with chives, cheese and bacon. At least as good as any restaurant baked potato soup at $5.00 a serving for sure!

Banana Oatmeal Cookies III

Very good "different" cookie. I used 2 large bananas, 1 small can of crushed pineapple, and some coconut. They were big and soft and really yummy!
