White Chocolate Pumpkin Cookies

These are ok. Everyone else like 'em way better than me, I think I just don't care for pumpkin that much. This recipe is easy to make, but it makes a lot! Next time I may omit the pecans, or chop them very fine. Prepare to be baking for awhile if you make this, the batch is huge and the bake time is long.

Giant Spice Cookies

Nice and chewy and soft, and they're pretty too. Mine turned out great. I baked them for the minimal time suggested. Quite spicy/molassasy :)

Pasteles - Argentinean Caramel Filled Crescents

I wanted to like these more than I did. I'm sure these take practice, but mine were a mess. There was too much caramel filling which was kinda hard to work with, my dough-to-filling ratio wasn't any good, my filling ran out of the cookies, and the baked dough seemed really dry. I think I overworked it. I think this would be a good recipe to practice, but I didn't enjoy them much myself.

Almond Biscotti

Turned out pretty good, but the batter/dough was pretty hard to work with for me because it was sooo sticky. It could have been due to me accidentally adding the dusting sugar into the batter, lesson learned :)

Almond Strawberry Salad

I usually don't like vinaigrettes but the dressing for this salad was really good, I used cubed apples instead of strawberries because they are out of season right now, but I'm sure it's delicious!

Atlantic Corn Chowder

I've made this twice now, and both times it came out so bland. I tried to add spices, more corn, etc. It just didn't work out.

Black Forest Mousse

This dessert was nice and light. It's not a real "mousse", but I like it anyway. If I make it again, I will probably add more cherries to the mix, and maybe try the chocolate fudge instant pudding.

Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce

A nice alternative to the boring old spaghetti sauce. I like the creaminess, and I like the spice. The half and half makes this sauce almost taste cheesy. It made quite a bit though, and it was a little runny for my taste. But it tasted good.

Curry Pumpkin Soup

I'm giving this four stars because everyone at Thanksgiving dinner (12 people!) this year LOVED it, but I didn't care much for it. I think I just don't like pumpkin that much, but it's a good recipe nonetheless. I will be making this for my family again. :)

Sweet Grilled Cheese

I liked this recipe. I guess I must have a well developed sweet tooth, because I almost wanted to put more brown sugar on this sandwich! The brown sugar melts into a yummy syrup in between the cheese slices. I'll probably make this again :)

Gingerbread Men

I loved this recipe. I used instant pudding, and they turned out great. I timed my bake time 10 min exactly, and it was just right. They were soft while hot, but hardened up to a nice firm cookie. I will make these again :)

Russian Tea Cakes I

Man these are tasty! I chopped the walnuts very fine because I don't like big chunks of nuts, and they are so good. I did make the mistake of stacking one layer on top of another in a cookie tin, bad idea! They squished together and fell apart when I tried to take them back out. Quite crumbly, but delicious. :)

Barbecue Tofu Sandwiches

I like this, but it seems a bit difficult for me to make without burning some of the tofu or onions or bottom of the pan. Also, I wish I could figure out a way to get the tofu firmer or crispier, it just seems so squishy. I did use extra firm the last time I made this, but it still was a bit spongy...

No-Fuss Rice Pudding

This is a great recipe to use up your leftover rice. Nicely spiced, not very custard-y tasting though. I had to cook mine at full power in the microwave for 9 minutes instead of 50%.

Very good, but definitely let it soak up the flavors for a good long time. Great with the suggested sandwich dressings. The only thing I'd change is I'd add a bit more mayo.

Easy Masoor Daal

Surprisingly delightful! I didn't expect this dish to be as exciting as it was. I did have to use green lentils instead of red ones because the store had none in stock :(. But other than that, it went unaltered and was delicious.
