Burgundy Lamb Shanks

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2011
Great recipe! I did not have time to saute the onions. I just threw everything into the slow cooker. I did add celery (it was precut with the onions I had in the fridge). I cooked it on low for 8 hours. It was delicious!!!!! Thanks for the recipe. I will make it again and again.

Busy Day Barbeque Brisket

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
I just made this recipe for the first time and it came out awesome! The only change I made was that I actually found a spice rub at my local spice store that had all the ingredients in it except for the cumin which I added separately to it It just made it that much easier. I did marinate it over night and cooked it all day in the slow cooker. I did add water to the BBQ sauce and worcestershire at the beginning of cooking. The sauce looked too thick to me and I was afraid of the overpowering flavor BBQ sauce sometimes can have. I think it was about a half cup of water. The result was delicious and enjoyed by my whole family. I served it with fresh made corn bread. Yum.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
I have made this recipe at least a half dozen times and love it. It is my go to Sloppy Joe. Everyone in my family loves it. It is easy and quick. The only change I make to it is I double it but add 1lb of ground turkey instead of another lb. of ground beef. No one is the wiser and it is just as delicious. Thank you, Tamara!

Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
I have to admit that I was skeptical at first. Many whole wheat recipes don't taste , well, very tasty. This one did. Now I have baked many a traditional banana breads , and this one was just as tasty and just as moist. I did try some of the other suggested changes. For example I did substitute apple sauce for the oil and half brown sugar and half honey, instead of all honey. I also added a tsp of cinnamon and a tablespoon of flaxseed meal. I kept everything else the same and it came out great. I will no doubt make this again and again.
