Cilantro-Lime Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2012
Very nice dressing, the only thing I would change up next time is increase the cilantro (I love that stuff) and the jalapeno because I like the spicy/sweet combo. This would also work really well as a marinade. Thanks for sharing!

Fruit Galore Sponge Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2012
I really like this recipe, especially how versatile it is since you can change up the combination of fruits based on what is in season, on sale, looks good, etc.. I used vanilla pudding rather than whipped topping and I think that made for a better base, I made a simple syrup and added vanilla extract because I couldn't find vanilla flavored syrup in my grocery store. I'd definitely recommend this recipe, you can do a lot with it and it comes out looking so pretty!

Hummus Layer Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2012
Very nice twist on 7 layer dip, and you can change up the flavor a bit by using different types of hummus. I love the garlic flavored hummus but for variety I think roasted red pepper or artichoke hummus would work very nicely. Perfect for a party with the recipe for baked pita chips I found on here. Thanks for sharing!

Roasted Garlic Zucchini and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2012
Really nice dish, I did make it in the oven but it could also easily be made on the stovetop. Great dish to use up summer veggies and you can cut back on the oil and skip the cheese if you want to make it even healthier. Thanks for sharing!

Penne Pasta with Veggies

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2012
This is a very good pasta dish, and the flavors of the vegetables really shine. There isn't any need to drown the vegetables in herbs and spices, but I do think some red pepper flakes would be delicious and add a nice kick. Still, it was yummy just as written also. Thanks for sharing!

excellent, wouldn't change a thing. The spice/herb blend was dead on and the crispiness is just awesome. thanks for sharing!

Fried Yellow Squash with Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2012
Very very good, but a bit rich with all that butter and oil. I cut back the oil to about 1/2 the amount called for because I just knew from reading the recipe that it would be too much for me. Still, I really enjoyed the end broduct, the yellow squash is a great addition to classic potatoes and onion.s Thanks for sharing!

Veggie Skewers

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2012
This was delicious, and is easily adaptable with other veggies. I would definitely use this same blend of herbs on peppers or even on tomatoes. The only change I might make is to use fresh garlic rather than garlic powder, but either way it's a fantastic summertime dish. Thanks for sharing!

Super-Good Oatmeal

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2012
Excellent base recipe, to me oatmeal is always better with milk instead of water. Honey is great but if you prefer maple syrup is also delicious. So many ways to change it up, so many different things to add in. Thanks for sharing!

Hummus and Artichoke Wrap

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2012
Great wrap! I used a whole grain flour tortilla and roasted garlic hummus made from scratch, but other than that I stuck with the recipe. This is excellent as is but can be changed up based on what is in your fridge. Next time I may try feta or parmesan. romaine lettuce would be good also if you don't have spinach, but if you have fresh spinach definitely use it as it is so good for you. thanks for sharing, these will be great for my lunches!

Pasta With Veggies In a Tahini and Yogurt Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2012
This is really good, just be sure to leave the water out ; I didn't find that it was needed but if you do you can just add some of the pasta water until its at the consistency you like. Once I mixed the tahini and yogurt, I felt it needed more tahini & garlic, so I'd recommend adjusting to your personal taste. Overall it is a very tasty and filling dish....it just needs some adjustments in the preparation. I will be making it again, thanks for sharing!

Garlic Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2012
Excellent, made it just as stated with the exception of heating it at 400 for 30 minutes. potatoes came out golden brown on the outside and soft and garlicky on the inside. I can see where others would have problems as I knew 350 wouldn't be enough. These are great, though. thanks for sharing!

Two Bowl Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
Absolutely delicious cake, surprisingly good as I haven't had much luck with most eggless baked goods. I added an extra tablespoon of cocoa powder b/c I wanted something extra chocolately, but otherwise I followed the recipe. It took 35 minutes at 350 in my oven and came out moist and flavorful. Thanks for sharing!

Orange Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
Really good orange flavor, and I just love all the healthy ingredients! These did come out a bit thin for me so next time I think I'll use less orange juice...these are not the fluffiest pancakes but they are moist and full of yummy orange flavor. Thanks for sharing!

Guacamole

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2012
Delicious, perfect blend of ingredients, wouldn't change a thing. The fresh cilantro is a must for me but I understand some people can't stand the stuff; I have no doubt its just as tasty if you leave the cilantro out. This is my go-to guacamole recipe now, thanks for sharing!

Avocado Tacos

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2012
This is basically a taco with guacamole as the filling. Its quite good as a very light lunch or snack but it doesn't have a lot of heft...the flavors are quite good but If you want this as a meal I would recommend adding some black beans to make it more filling. Thanks for sharing!

Strawberry Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2012
This is a good recipe for strawberry bread, but I found that it needs some significant changes to be worthy of five stars. I would recommend cutting back on the cinnamon (about 1/2 the amount called for) because using the whole tablespoon just drowns out the strawberry flavor. I think I'd also cut back on the oil and increase the strawberries, maybe even mash another cup of strawberries for flavor (and to keep the bread from getting dry). Mine took 50 minutes at 350, and while it was good I did expect more strawberry flavor and, with the changes suggested, I think this recipe can work really well if you have a lot of strawberries you want to use up. Thanks for sharing!

Stuffed Peppers My Way

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2012
Excellent peppers, and easily adaptable to your own taste preferences. The only changes I made were swapping the green bell pepper for red ones (all I had in the fridge) and using orzo rather than arborio rice. The seasoning was nice and light, and the feta adds just the right tang. Great vegetarian supper, thanks for sharing!

Sri Lankan Potato Curry II

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2012
Excellent flavors and it does go really well with plain rice. I would change up the method of preparation next time by sauteing the garlic and potatoes in some vegetable oil before adding the other ingredients. For those who aren't used to spicy food I would recommend trying it with just the green chile peppers first and then, if you can handle it, add the cayenne. Overall a very good dish, thanks for sharing!
