Creamy Apple Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
This is pretty tasty once you make a lot of adjustments. Water just doesn't make it creamy, milk is much better. Two tablespoons of brown sugar makes this perfectly sweet. A light pinch of salt rounds things out nicely. As written, this is a three star recipe -- a good idea, but needs some work. Thanks for the recipe, I did really enjoy it once I made the adjustments.

Gypsy Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
This was fantastic! Since I'm vegetarian I used veggie broth, but I kept everything else the same. This is such a filling soup with so much flavor, really great on a cold winter day. Thanks for the recipe!

Jamaican Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
Fantastic burgers! These have a great flavor and, if you add the breadcrumbs a little at a time until you are able to form the patties, they come together beautifully. I didn't fry the patties, I baked them and even then they stayed together and weren't dry at all. This recipe is a real winner. Thanks, Hannah!

Crazy Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
Five stars for a chocolate cake without eggs or milk in it. Its not going to be exactly like more traditional chocolate cakes but it is a great cake for those who can't have eggs. I made this exactly as written and I wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for the recipe!

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
Five star recipe as written when it comes to the flavor, but this recipe does result in a pasta sauce that is rather thin. Others have mentioned thickening it with flour so I'll try that next time; I just like to try a recipe as written the first time around. The bf and I really enjoyed this one and I'll be making it often. Thanks for the recipe!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
Fantastic! Took this to a party and it was one of the first items gone. When making it just for my family, I think I'll increase the jalapeno peppers since we like things very spicy. Thanks for the recipe!

Black Bean and Corn Quesadillas

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
A fantastic combination of spicy and sweet. I've made a version of these before, but the addition of brown sugar is excellent. The only change I made was to use non-stick spray in place of butter. Thanks for the recipe!

Greek Pasta Salad I

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
A delicious and beautiful salad! I didn't have mushrooms so I left those out and doubled up on the red bell peppers. I didn't have green onions so I used red, and I think that was even better. I'm vegetarian so I left out the sausage and added green pepper and artichokes instead. Fantastic salad, thanks for the recipe!

Mexican Corn

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
Delicious! Only changes I made were to use 1/3 less fat cream cheese, 1/4 less butter, and frozen corn rather than canned. This is going to go over very well at parties. Thanks for the recipe!

Cranberry-Orange Spiced Oatmeal

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
This was okay, I thought the orange juice made it too sour but I like the idea so I'll be playing around with it until I can get the flavors just right. Thanks for the recipe :)

Hot Bean Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
This is a great party dip that people who can't tolerate heat can enjoy. The only thing I did differently was mix all the cheeses right in, rather than leaving it on the top. Thanks for the recipe, my family (especially my baby brother) enjoyed it

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
Made a veg. version of this and I thought it was delicious! Loved all the flavors and it was very filling. I know making it vegetarian means it wasn't quite "authentic", but I enjoyed it all the same. Thanks for the recipe!

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Perfect recipe as written, the only change I made was to use veggie broth instead of chicken broth since I'm vegetarian. Other than that I followed the directions exactly and I think it is five stars on its own. Next time I'll try adding cheese to the flour/milk mix just for a bit of a change. Thanks for the recipe, it's a keeper :)

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
A perfect pancake recipe just as is. I made this for myself and my bf and it was enough for both of us, but if you're making it for more people it would be best to double it. These are tall, light, fluffy pancakes that would be great with plain maple syrup or a fruit topping. Thanks for the recipe, this one will be going in my permanent file :)

Coconut Macaroons III

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
So simple and so incredibly good! I couldn't believe how quickly these came together and how delicious they tasted. I think next time I make these I will go ahead and cook them for a bit longer to toast the coconut more. I may even try dipping them in chocolate as others have done. Thanks for the recipe!
